Dolly Parton is one of the most loved entertainers in the world. She has had a long career. Not only has she had a long career, but she has also had a successful marriage. She has been married to Carl Thomas Dean for nearly 50 years. Although Carl is married to a super star, he has tried his best to stay out of the spotlight. This has allowed Dolly to grow as a cultural icon.

Dolly stated that Carl plays multiple roles in her life. He is a brother, friend, father, lover and husband. The couple stated that they are really proud of their marriage.
