Police dogs are trained to detect drugs, weapons, bombs, find missing people, or chase down criminals. For these dogs to learn this it keeps the general public safe. It keeps people who try bring bombs, weapons, and drugs in the air ports out. These dogs serve as a double check security just in case someone might have missed something. If a natural disaster happened, it can cause people to be lost under all the diapree. Sometimes, people can miss a victims cry for help but the police dogs can hear them; or if they are knocked unconscious the dogs can smell the victims under all the diepreye. The police dogs can pick up the scent of a missing person if they are held captive and are hidden. The dogs are faster than humans, this gives the cops an upper hand on criminals that are trying to outrun them. Dogs bring people happiness by being playful, comforting, and giving their owners a sense of responsibility.…
Dogs have been around as long as people, at least that’s what the good book says. They have been loyal to man since the beginning of time, they have also been a good companion for mankind. Dogs are good, loyal, loveable, and kind by nature. They give their undivided attention and don’t form an opinion (good or bad) about you or what you have done, they are good listeners and they don’t judge you for your mistakes.…
Service dogs can be very useful, and life altering for a person who is blind, or who needs assistance with everyday life. For example: a person like you or me, turning on a light, picking up a dropped pencil, or walking down the street comes very easy to us, but when you are in a wheelchair or blind those small everyday tasks become very hard. With the assistance of a service dog they can give a disabled person the freedom they need to live a more independent life. In this paper I will talk about how service dogs are picked, how they are trained, and how the owners are trained with their new dog.…

Dogs are known to be man's best friend. They are loving, caring, and are always protective over their owner. Some people say when you have a newborn in your home a dog will pretend the baby is theirs and will protect the baby forever. That seems nice of a dog to do this, but…
People get service dogs for a number of reasons, but this is usually because of an illness or a disability. Some are trained to guide blind people and give them signals. Others meanwhile, can even detect seizures (though it is unclear as to how), and react to certain situations, like what to do when an owner is having one.…
One of the attributes that give our great dogs such an exceptional disposition is their innate desire to help.…
Companionship is the number one reason I chose to adopt a dog. For instance, when you wake up in the morning they don't care if you have morning breath and no make-up, they will be there to greet you good morning. Also, you know when you come home everyday your dog will always be happy to see you. After a long stressful day they will meet you at the door tail wagging ready to give you hugs and kisses because you're home. It makes all your stress and worries go right out the door. Whether you need someone to cuddle with in bed or company on the couch watching a movie, your dog will always be there for you. The loyalty of dogs is quite amazing and they always want to be by you side. In fact, just walking from room to room in your home you'll be followed. Dogs will never be judgmental, they don't care about the kind of house you live in, the car you drive or what name brand clothes you wear, they will love you for you. You might be feeling emotional, angry, or even talking out loud to yourself about your horrible day, your dog will be there listening and wagging its tail. If you are late feeding them they won't complain. If you raise your voice because they did something wrong they will always forgive you. There are many other benefits to owning a dog but surely your dog will become your sidekick. Many owners make their dogs a significant part of their family.…

Service dogs are very helpful for some people. First, service dogs are helpful for people that may be blind to help them do grab and pickup stuff that they might have dropped. Second, service dogs are also useful for people who have a serious back injury and can't bend over to pick something or for a person who has lost a leg or an arm they can help them walk or pull a wheel chair. Third, service dogs also can help people with mental and emotional disabilities such as autism, which service dogs can help by calming them down and dogs help lift your spirit and reduce stress. Fourth, service dogs are also very helpful for soothing people who might be in a lot of stress. Fifth, a lot of the time service dogs help wounded military veterans that…
The first step to training a search and rescue dog, is determine which breed of dog you want to work with and if that dog is suitable for the environment it will be working in. The most common dogs used in search and rescue are German Shepherds. The German Shepherds are mostly used in Law enforcement, but some law enforcements will use Belgian Malinios, a cousin of the German Shepherd. Agencies such as “TSA” work with Black Labs, Beagles, Terriers and some rescue dogs with an aptitude for higher learning. These breeds and mixes are not as intimidating looking as the Shepherd breeds and are able to move in and out of places like airports with less notice. However, the German shepherd with its great intelligence, loyalty and work ethic, their physique which allows them train and run for hours has been and remains a favorite among all working dog trainers and agencies who utilize them.…
Dogs can be trained to assist the needy. They can help the deaf, the blind and the physically or mentally impaired. Tinkerbelle helps my husband as he is 70% deaf. She lets him know when his phone rings and if someone is at the door. Other breeds are known to lead a blind person safely around obstacles and retrieve items for a person who cannot physically move…
I believe that a dog is a man’s best friend. I have grown up with animals all my life, but my dogs have had the biggest impact on my life. All the dogs I’ve had have been special and different in their own way. Losing a dog is always the hardest part of owning a pet, but getting a new one is just as hard. The dogs that I have had the strongest bond with are my dogs Rocky and Rubie, but now just Rocky. Rocky is a black labrador retriever, who is nine years old. Along with Rocky we had his sister Rubie, and my uncle’s family had two of their brothers, Cliff and Norm, but now just Norm. It has been fun watching our dogs grow up and be able to stay together since they are siblings.…
Furthermore, it appears that animals have feelings and conscience too and having a pet as a companion can teach one a sense of responsibility. A striking example of their intelligence and nobility is the fact that pets are often specially trained to help their blind or deaf owners.…
