Dodge Ball Game Observation Report
This activity was observed to be a modified dodge ball game with mats instead of people just dodging and fleeing from the ball. This activity was based on 30 students and two teachers. This activity was a modified dodge ball game out side on the basketball courts; the location is at McManus elementary school. This modified dodge ball game took place around 9:30 a.m. to around 10:00 a.m., so it was about thirty minutes in length and very active. There were two adults to the thirty students, one was the teacher and the other was an aid. These students were in about 5th graders, so there are a lot of control movements here for this activity. There overall generic level in control, but they all started out, as pre control there was a little utilization spotted with certain parts of the activity and no proficiency. Proficiency in the text is described as and advanced level and automatic movements and the movements seem to look effortless (Graham, Holt/Hale & Parker 2013 pp. 59). If there had proficiency skills in the modified dodge ball game the students would have been able to do the activity with no problems or issues and do it very well. It almost looked like paintball because there were mats to hide behind and it was set up like a course, but you never moved, you just tried not to get hit by a ball. I was also surprised at the fact that the student made an effort to throw the balls at different students and not just there friends or the one kid who isn’t popular. It didn’t really surprise me that the students were at the control level with the modified dodge ball game activity because they are a lot older where directions are easier to understand. Something that I would do different it split up the students and have and instructor on one side of the court with 15 students and have the exact it on the other side of the

    In today’s society, ones potential for a successful future is based on how they carry themselves on an ordinary basis.
