Chapter I – THE PROBLEM AND ITS SETTING

Introduction (Present Tense) 2-3 pages

This section provides the reader an overview of the specific technology or field in the international or local setting. The information regarding the technology or field should be contemporary and not based on outdated sources. Discussion must not be too technical or too detailed.

This section ends with a discussion on the problem faced by or that still exist in the specific technology or field. The problem statement would lead to research objectives.

Researchers may include and discuss the following depending on your chosen topic within your introduction. Do note that composition of your introduction will depend on the subjects that make up your study.

Information and Communication Technology: Before – Now – Future. (Required) Researchers institute the focal point of their research opportunity through stating the significant contribution of Information and Communication Technology in the society, work place, and development as well. Compress it in one to three paragraphs.

Sample 1: Information technology (IT) is currently taking its center stage. The numerous advantages it has in easing the delivery of information around the world, as well as the central role of information in the new global society, means that information technology will shape the dynamics of the new millennium.
