Many years ago, my family fled persecution from our war-torn country, in hopes to provide a better, more secure future for their children. As a family, we adjusted to a foreign country; we persevered through poverty, and attempted to make the American Dream a reality. We started off small, with a local convenience store run by our own family. I quickly learned the hard and fast lessons of responsibility, maturity, and commitment while working to provide for the family. I witnessed my family reach their highest goals, with a recipe of passion, dedication, and integrity. I plan on using these invaluable lessons through my everyday challenges, to hopefully aid in becoming a physician.

Having the responsibility of both school and a job taught me balance. It also taught me how to be punctual, how to utilize my time wisely, and most importantly, it showed me the value of hard work. As a result, I have become more mature and self-disciplined, allowing me to be promoted to shift manager at my job, and still being able to excel in college with a high GPA.
I am looking for a medical program that will give structure and training to my advancement in the field of medicine. My endeavors throughout the time I spent with my family, college, clinical volunteering, and occupation have shown me that the field of medicine demands compassion, intelligence, integrity and commitment.
