Do We Really Make America Better
We live in a country where no one will punish you from speaking your mind or expressing yourself in ways that would otherwise be oppressed and disdained in other countries. The US. was founded upon a series of ideas such as the idea that all people are created equal & liberty. Although we may be free from a dictatoring government, we continue to discriminate each other because of race, religion, political preference, and sexual orientation. That’s un-American and overall immoral. Let’s set aside our differences and accept each other for who we are based on who we are overall as a person. Only united can we really make America better.
After all, America is already

Alternatively, in our modern day world some people still keep their thoughts to themselves and are afraid to speak for other people. Just like in the book Night, Elie was concerned about the other Jews being taken to extermination camps, however his father told him not to worry about it because it wasn’t them being taken and they lived in denial that anything as unpleasant of what was reality was happening to the Jews and the same would happen to them. Until Elie and his family were captured, he continued to believe what his father said by not taking a stand and defending other people for what is right. Unfortunately, the same type of events still take place, whether it’s a dictatorship in another country, to something such as bullying. For…

Complacency in everyday life has led to turmoil in many countries. In Germany there was the Holocaust in which nearby neighbors could sit and watch execution from their doorstep. In America during the 1960’s no one had the courage to speak up for African-Americans and their rights. Even though people don’t speak up when they should, you should by any means necessary stand up for what is right. By not speaking up things could only get worse, people can get badly hurt, or the problem could be ongoing.…

The notion of America being an exception to the general trend of world civilizations is correct. America is far more different than any other civilization in consideration of the country which exemplifies loads of ethnicities from around the world, religions, and general beliefs. The constitution involves a big role in general independence for people living in America. Therefore, within those traits, that alone can apprehend that America is an exception to world civilizations because people have united and been offered freedom that other civilizations discharge. The Bill Of Rights gave individuals the freedom of speech, to speak their beliefs and not to be shadowed over what people consider is right or wrong due to opinions or religion. America…

Our country is one supposedly based on fairness and equality; all citizens being treated with equal fairness. This is not the truth. Prejudice and inequality can be found in all societies today. People are not treated unfairly by others and, in return, treat others with the same unfairness. Most people, however unaware they may be, have been guilty of some form of prejudice. “Men call the shadow prejudice, and learnedly explain it as the natural defense of culture against barbarism, learning against ignorance, purity against crime” (p. 296).…

There are days that I take that for granted, whether it's speaking my mind in class or maybe I want to post something on social media without the government censoring it. I've never done a protest or gone out of my way for people of a higher power to hear my voice. It could happen one day and maybe not one voice or two, many voices with the same views as me could come together and protest are views. How I am so blessed to express my religious freedom, whether it's praying before a meal or event simply the best feeling in the world. Or maybe I want to go out and talk about my higher power around other people who may not know about what I believe in. We know trump was elected and he talked about a booming business for jobs well the first amendment makes that great. By bringing in diversity it gives us the opportunity to soar above the rest for innovation. The first amendment, a simple statement that gives us Americans so much power in today’s country we call…

Firstly, it just amusing that people misconstrue themselves thinking that they have the right to do whatever makes them feel happy. Even though, in the “Declaration of Independence” states that we are all equal and have rights to do what makes us happy, but to be honest it’s just all lies. For instance, in school our opinions in class shouldn’t affect our grades. That just shows you how the world just wants you to feel unhappy and that you have no right to speak up your mind. In reality, we truly don’t have equalizes in our own country which I feel it’s a shame because why doesn’t the world not want us to be happy? What we should have is balance in life in order to know what we know will make us happy. The major misunderstanding we the people have is thinking that…
