Characteristics of an Entrepreneur
Examples on How Gokongwei Manifested these Characteristics
How can I enhance these characteristics while I’m still a student
Desire for Achievement
He was motivated to be successful by the struggles he and his family faced when his father died.
He never cease to settle in succeeding in one company. Instead, he continues to expand his companies.

I will not settle for passing grades but I will pursue to have high grades in every subject I took.
I will be motivated by my desire to be a doctor even if a lot of hindrances came across.
Self-directed

Though down-hearted when his father died, Gokongwei did not give up in living. He started selling in palengkes knowing that it is the right way to help his mother and surpass their problems.

His desire to achieve or success in the business of the corn starch manufacturing happened and to his other later businesses.

I write down my plans and even my tasks to be done in every week so that I can clearly see my goal and be directed in to it.
I will make my short term and long term plans so that I can keep track my actions if it’s leading to my goal.
Moderate Risk-Taker
When he established the Cebu Pacific, he doesn’t surely know whether it would be a success.
When he spotted an opportunity in corn starch business, he promptly lend big amount of money to invest on it without knowing the possibilities. I will take risk in asking question to my professors if I can’t understand the lesson or object on his/her opinion about something relevant to our course.
Creative/Innovative
Gokongwei did not stop in having one business but snatch every opportunity in business. An example of this is his business in telecommunication. He made Sun cellular a supergiant telecoms by using new technology and intelligent systems and new offers with lower price.
I will create projects with a unique ideas.

    The planning of short term goals is what enables one to complete simple tasks, many of these tasks need to be completed on a daily basis.
