Divorce Rate Increasing
In recent years, a trouble, which makes sociogists have to care and worry, is hight divorce rate. A lot of couples ready to divore after a few years marriage. To explain this problem, in my opinion, there are 3 reasons are the effect of Western culture , the change of social conception and position of woman .

Firstly, thanks to modern medias and cultural exchange,the Western has inffuenced on thinking of young people. They would rather live for themselves than people who live around. They think and act individual. Consequently, nowsdays, young people willing to happiness of family for their individual benefits as work or relationship. So, family conflicts may happen and be problematic. Divorce will so easily.

Secondly,conception of young people is different to their generation. In the past, an unhappy couple can maintain their family to protect their chilren and their honour. But, nowsdays, divorce don’t tell anything about honour or human dignity. 2 persons ready to say goodbye and stars find a new love, new life. This conception tanke part in making the divorce rate increasing so rapily.

Finally, position of woman more and more is raise, not only family but also in society. Modern woman are able to get a solid position in society, so they become more finanial independent of their husbands. Thus, if their husbands cant make them happy, they can find a new love.

In conclusion, divorce rate inceasing so rapid is made by are the effect of Western culture, the change of social conception and position of woman . And this is an issue which needs to be

    Firstly the most obvious reason for the upward trend in divorce is the changes in law . Law has become more lenient on this subject because in the 19th century women had to have extreme reasons to obtain a divorce and were under several observations before they were even allowed to petition and prior to 1857 could only be taken by the act of parliament .The grounds for divorce was low however as times changed as did matrimonial acts and in 1979 the government expanded the grounds of divorce by allowing the “irretrievable breakdown” a reason for divorce which then doubled the rate of divorce . Another legislation that increased the divorce rate is the equalising grounds act which was implemented in 1923 . This gave women an equal chance to petition for divorce and as soon as this legislation came to place women’s petitions boomed excessively .Also In 1985 the matrimonial and family proceedings act allowed couples to get a divorced minimum one year into there marriage rather than three therefore giving couples more leeway and allowing them to give up quicker . Cost of divorce is another factor that the government controlled to earn revenue and stop people from getting divorces however in 1949 government lowered cost of divorce and introduced the legal aid and advice act which then gave people who could not afford divorce accessible to divorce…

    In America, our society seems to have a growing social problem when dealing with gender attitudes and marriage. The institution of marriage itself is at serious risk. The current divorce rate in America is estimated to be around 40-50%, meaning that almost half of all marriages end up as divorces. In a study done by Divorce Magazine, it was found that 10% of the US population is divorced. Ten percent may not seem to be a large number, but when one takes out children and all those who have not been marriage, that is a decent-sized figure. Another interesting statistic was discovered by Jennifer Baker from the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in Springfield. She found that a first marriage has a 45% to 50% chance to end in divorce, while a third marriage has a 70% to 73% chance (“Divorce Statistics”). This may be due to the idea that if a person has already divorced previously in their life, they are more likely to call it quits when the next marriage(s) comes along. Over 40% of first marriages end within 13 years, and over 20% of first marriages end within 5 years. Interestingly enough, women are the first to file for divorce 65% of the time (“Divorce Rates”). Why is this? Also, the website Divorce.com found that since 1970, divorces have increased 40%. Since that same date, marriages have declined 30% (“Divorce Statistics”). With less people getting married and divorces still happening at a high level, it makes one wonder about the potential cause of this predicament. What could be the issue?
