Diverse workforce - Disability
 Disabled firefighters must be treated as individuals and reasonable adjustments must be made.
 Ensure that managers must work with occupational health and medical advisers to reach decisions about making adjustments, redeploying or dismissing a disabled employee
 Must ensure that managers should make decisions WITH disabled employees not ABOUT them.
 the aim is to provide training to look more at what can be done and what should be done rather than looking at 'legal compliance‘.
Adding Value to the

Diverse workforce - Religion
 Recognising the importance of staff being able to select other days as religious holidays rather than taking the Christian bank holidays such as Christmas and
Easter.
 Where possible, Hampshire Constabulary will identify a quiet and private place which can be used for the purpose of prayer or meditation.
 We try to support those staff who choose to fast as part of their religion. This is particularly likely for Muslim staff during the month of Ramadan.

 Chaplains (Minister, Priest) are on hand, along with other religious counsellors. Prayer facilities are also usually available and we’ll adapt your uniform, catering and duty roster to meet your religious requirements, where possible.
