1-Background and Introduction:
Spain is living nowadays probably the most dramatic economic crisis ever. In overall perspective, all the country and sectors are suffering this crisis. Also Spanish citizens and workforce is suffering big rates of unemployment. Some data which can illustrate Spanish current situation is:

(Tradingeconomics 2011) The economic crisis in Spain is affecting big companies and also small ones. Although the situation is hard for both, big companies normally have more resources in order to cope with the crisis. On the other hand, small companies (until 50 people) normally have more difficulties to deal with that situation. Hence, that many of them have not survived to this economic crisis. According with National Confederation of SMEs (Conae) “more than 200.000 SMEs have closed through 2009 due to economic crisis. This amount represents around 20% of total number of companies in Spain.” (Conae 2010) Although the economic crisis is affecting every sector, the influence in food industry is being lower than other ones. Nowadays, food industry represents 17% of industrial GDP and 7% of General GDP. During 2009 according with Intercompanies.net (2010) its drop was 3,4% which is not so big with respect other sectors as fashion (-19,7%) or furniture (-30,45%). Anyway, it could be said that this sector is also in crisis. However, this situation make optimistic forecast that food industry could be one of the engines which help Spain to recover from crisis. (Interempresas.net 2010)

Hence, that it will be analyzed in this study, solutions for the crisis in Food Industry in Spain. In addition this study it will be done under the hopes that food industry could help the country to recover from the current economic crisis through the incorporation of small Spanish companies operating in food industry to international market. Breaking down the analysis, it will be underline what are the benefits of export for companies. In a lower level, it will be analyze indirect export as a quick and cheap way within exportation and also their benefits for small Spanish companies. The purpose is to reach conclusions about the suitability of the decision to start a process of indirect export as a crisis solution and new impulse for small companies. After that, it will be analyzed food industry trying to conclude how indirect export in food industry can contribute to the economic crisis’ recuperation. It will be developed through interviews with different groups in order to get a whole picture of the suitability of the solution. For...
