Cinderella’s mother cared so deeply for Cinderella’s future that she carefully prepared her for everything but eventuality. She was not ready. Castle-cleaning might not be every girl’s idea of a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon; however, practicing skills like that enhance any princess’s public relations. Her mother became jealous of Cinderella and said Just because you are a princess, doesn’t mean you’ll ever be a…

Ashputtle and Cinderella are two fairytales that are very similar but also different. The theme of the stories are almost the same both step mothers are mean and so is the sisters for example when the stepmother called Ashputtle a sloven (dirty or untidy person) in Cinderella mean comments and actions were made to Cinderella and Ashputtle both. The sisters are rude and are in the way of Ashputtle and Cinderella getting to the ball. Cinderella is different in some ways in detail and theme like when she went in a giant pumpkin to the ball.…
Growing up I can remember how I felt after watching the Cinderella story. Inspired by the rags-to-riches fairy tale, I can remember hoping that maybe someday I could be like Cinderella. I never imagined the story I knew all-too-well would have been dramatically altered from its original version. Though the lesson remains the same, comparisons reveal numerous differences between Walt Disney’s Cinderella to the earlier Charles Perrault’s “Cinderella: Or the Glass Slipper”. Variations are noticed in characters, events, and outcomes of this world-famous…
Films that I particularly favor are thrillers. One reason Thrillers become so enjoyable for me, a sense of diversion is created making the viewers more indulge in the movie all the way to the ending. The plots are usually twisted, climatic, suspenseful and intelligence is often use far as the writing perspective to result in an ecliptic viewing of the movie. A really great thriller will usually bring a shock factor by the climax, then the movie will receive a better understanding from the beginning to end. Another genre of films I enjoy are Musicals they are fashionable and express emotions through singing. I am really into lyricism so I enjoy comparing the actual expression of the each character's individual story and the progression…
Grimm’s Cinderella is a similar tale with some fiercer consequences to the villains. The Grimm version has many of the same plot elements and devices as the story we all know and love. In this version her father is still alive and still lets the rest of the family treat her like a slave. Instead of a fairy godmother granting her wish it is a tree she planted on her mother’s grave and some birds. When the sisters try on the golden shoe one cuts off her toes, while the other cuts off her heels and the birds chant that neither could be the prince’s proper bride. Finally, the sisters are punished at Cinderella’s wedding by birds who peck their eyes out, leaving them forever blind.…
There are lots of similares in the movie “ Into the woods” and the Fairy tales about Cinderella. The first one,is Cinderella has to finish her chores to get to go to the King’s feast. Everyone knows the story of Cinderella, the girl who finds her prince with the help of a magical fairy god-mother, transforming her previously horrible life to a fabulous depiction of every little girls dream. Generations of children around the world have heard the story Cinderella countless times, however most people are unaware of the multiple versions of this legend. The European version of Cinderella ,“Aschenputtel” written by the Grimm Brothers consists of the female protagonist being treated as a servant, yet somehow manages to leave her cruel family behind for her Prince whom she lives happily ever after with. Another version of Cinderella is the Native American tale “The Algonquin Cinderella”, where the female protagonist is also mistreated by her family, however she is fortunate enough to “find” her own prince in her village. Although both stories present similar morals, both vary in details such as characters, settings, and use of magic.…
I decided to genderbend and retell the story of Cinderella. The Cinderella story goes back as far as the 800s in China with the main character named Yeh-Shen (Northrup). There are hundreds of versions of this story that can be found around the world in places in Africa, the Middle East, and South American. The Cinderella story that inspired Walt Disney’s popular movie and is the one that most European and American audiences know came from the French tale that originated in the 1690s. In that version, Cinderella is named Cendrillon (Northrup). For my retelling, I use the name Elena for the Cinderella character.…
This assignment requires you to compare (meaning compare or contrast) two versions of the best known and most ubiquitous of all folk tales, the story of Cinderella. If you do select your own version of the tale, please okay it with me to make sure it is a legitimate Cinderella story.…
There are many versions to the famous fairy tale Cinderella. Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm’s German version of Cinderella, “Aschenputtel,” is a household story of a young girl named Cinderella who eventually marries a prince. This specific version of Cinderella gave birth to the Walt Disney version of Cinderella that most Americans know today. However the stories are very different. The Grimm brothers’ version is much darker and gory then the classic American version. Small differences like this shed a different light on Cinderella and her journey to a “happy” ending.…
Disney’s original movie Cinderella (1950) and Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella (1997) both consist of songs throughout the movie. “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” is sung by Cinderella where she is seen singing to her animal friends to always keep dreaming. It consists of rhymes in the end of almost each line and the words rhyme with each other every other line. There are different types of rhymes used throughout the song. The second and fourth lines end with asleep/keep, which are perfect rhymes. The first and third lines end with heart makes/heartache, which are mosaic rhymes as it’s a double rhyme scheme. The sixth and ninth lines end with through/true and the seventh and eighth lines end with grieving/believing, which are identical rhyming. The lyrics of the song also have figurative language in one sentence, “Your rainbow will come shining through”, to symbolize happiness. The last four lines repeat the beginning of the song again.…
