Disadvantages Of Going To A Community College
Have you considered going to a university, but felt that you weren't just ready for it? Well lucky for you, you can always go to a community college. Community colleges are a great way to continue your education, while not having to pay and maybe even do as much work as a university. There are substantial benefits of going to a community college such as the cost, closer to home, and smaller class sizes.1 Even though there are a few pros of going to a community college, there are also some cons. You risk not being as socially involved, there is not as many courses available, and it's a difficulty transferring credits.2

Community college is a great choice to go with. You have a lot of opportunities to do other things, It is also good if you are unsure of your major, because here you can switch your major with no problem, rather than in a UC it would be way harder, might even cost more and/or might have to take different classes.

If you just went to a Community College and got an associates degree that would help you so much when trying to get a job. Associates degree only takes 2-3 years depending on how many classes you take at once, and then with that you will have an associates degree which is still just a great thing to have. With any degree you have a more likely chance of getting the job and also maybe even can lead to more promotions and higher pay.
There is way more pros of going to a community college than cons, but you also do have to take the cons into consideration when making a decision. Sometimes you just can be as socially involved in a Community College than you can in a UC. There is not as many opportunities in a Community College as there is in a UC.     The first advantage that many consider, is the low tuition cost that a contributor from Forbes magazine mentions. They say that “...the average community college student paid $2713 in tuition - a tenth of the tuition expense shouldered by students at private four-year colleges.” This is a great advantage for those who are not sure what they want to major in and do not want to invest money into classes at a four year college, and then there are people who cannot afford the tuition cost of a university even with scholarships, which leaves them with at least being able to afford community college classes. Another great advantage that ties in with paying a smaller tuition at Fullerton community college is financial aid, which Fullerton University has as well but does not compare to being able to have all of your classes paid for and for some Fullerton College students they even have their textbooks paid for. The third greatest advantage to attending a Fullerton College would be being able to get into some majors in two years or less with the great degree and certificate programs they provide. There really are so many more great advantages such as, having more access from your professors for assistance and having smaller classroom sizes that usually only private universities or certain classes in a university would be able to provide.
