Different Types Of Peak Performers
A peak performer is somebody who performs at their maximum and best ability (Bethel University, 2013). Peak performers have great confidence and are focused on the task or situation ahead of them (Bethel University, 2013). I think peak performers are people who want more out of life, somebody who just has the hunger and drive to get what they want. Peak performers set their mind on something and have a straight vision on what they want (Bethel University, 2013). Peak performers must be determined, assertive, self-confident and lastly positive (Bethel University, 2013). Being a peak performer is not trying to outdo anybody, it’s trying to outdo yourself. Everything in this world is not a competition with other individuals sometimes is a competition …show more content…
You should always evaluate yourself and see what works best for you and see how you learn best. Self-assessment may help you with problem solving and analyzing a situation(Bethel University, 2013). Self-assessment tools I will use for myself is working and studying multiple ways to see which one is best for me (Bethel University, 2013). I know I had to do a self-assessment on myself before starting Bethel's success program. I had to look at myself weigh out options and ask myself is this right for you? Will this be the right fit for you? Self-assessments are good with any aspect of your life from buying a house to getting a new job, you will constantly be giving yourself self-assessments. I can improve my writing by practice and diligence. Being that I am in a writing-based program, I know my writing needs to improve. Constant writing and critique from my professors will shape my writing in the long run. Time management is another issue that I’m having. I can change that by making a schedule for myself and following through with it. It’s essential to organize my life and make time for things that need to be done. Money management is probably the most difficult for me. Being young with no real responsibilities, you think you can spend your money whenever and on whatever you want. It’s imperative to come up with a certain spending plan. I will break it down into savings, daily expenses, and monthly expenses and so on. Well, I can now say after reading last week's article by Hass and Flower and this weeks Penrose and Geisler's which was about how important rhetorical reading is and can help understand what you are reading, has opened my eyes to that fact that these are only part of why I have trouble with writing. As I reflect on past writing assignments, I now see it could have been due to my lack of experiences within certain rhetorical situations. Now that I have advanced my education and have gained additional experience on how to approach writing differently, my style of writing seems to flow better, and has become less intimidating. Which has lead to fewer sentence fragments; consistent grammar and being less critical, this has helped me, become a more knowledgeable writer. I can now say I am more like Roger and less like Janet because I now can connect the texts I am reading with real world events or things that have happened within my own life. Ultimately, I have now found that being a more experienced student has helped me improve how to read between the lines and not read just to paraphrase, it has also helped me write a better structured, more comprehensive, and well-organized essay using better examples. The important part of these readings…

The four vital areas that I need to improve in order to become more efficient in managing my time as a college student would include prioritizing, resolving issues, time management and procrastination. As a single working mother I find it hard to prioritize what's really important which always brings a sense of panic. Personally as a working parent I always feel overwhelmed from the many obligations that go along with raising young children. Therefore it's very easy to find myself with multiple projects with fast approaching deadlines. Instead of always over scheduling myself I must schedule unscheduled time to allow personal time to reenergize my mind and body. I also have to choose what's really important…

In English I wrote a letter to my parents were I was not good at writing and speaking. Also, I notice that when I read my paragraphs it wouldn't make sense I was a terrible writer my paragraphs wouldn't focus in one thing. I think I have gotten better at writing and speaking because when I read the gratitude letter to my teacher, friends to correct me and correct the mistake that I made in my rough draft. I have improved by reading it to other persons. Also so when I used to read it to my parents I would stutter and get nervous.so that's how I improved in my speaking, writing. Also, the part I need to improve was in my listening because I wouldn't listen when people would correct me. I wouldn't listen to them when they were speaking or giving lessons how to get better in speaking, writing. so that I would improve. I now listen to people that give me lessons on how to write, speak better because they hear me and read my paragraphs. So now I improve in a lot of things because I get lesson from other people. If I wouldn't listen to people that give me advice about my paragraphs I don't know where I'll be right now. So that how I have grown in the different sections of skills for academic…

My high school my writing process was very alike to the process my classmates would practice. I would get my ideas from my life experience or classmates. A tool that really help me organized my thoughts was the web organizer with all the ideas I would brainstorm. I would let out my thoughts and would try to organize them the best way possible following the outline that I was going to utilize. I would ask my teachers and sisters, who have much more experience to proofread my rough draft. A problem I saw in my writing was my usage of words and my punctuation. As following the writing process it extended the essay a week more but it was well done. Problems that I would approach with, was organizing my writing in a form to make it clear. My strengths were the ideas and the details I would use in my writing.…

My academic experience of writing has mainly consisted of the core writing classes that were required for high school. In high school, I wrote persuasive essays, poems, research papers and expository papers. Writing in school was a difficult task for me to do as writing a paper over a topic that does not intrigue me makes brainstorming and getting started difficult. Throughout high school writing papers became easier as I worked on my weaknesses. The type of writing I found the most enjoyable was writing deep thoughts or ideas that made me ponder. Then making those thoughts more presentable and well articulated over the next few days. My weakness when I write is correct grammar, deciding what to write, and brainstorming in a way that keeps…

Although I am not where I would like to be, my relationship with writing is much better than it previously was. What I like about writing is that it is a way to express yourself. Areas of writing that I do not particularly like include: forming a thesis statement, making my introduction captivating or something of interest that will reel the reader(s) in, and connecting my body paragraphs together. I am not particularly fond of writing essays in general. What I find easy about writing is that usually once I get started and have some ideas jotted down, the flow of my essay goes well. The body paragraphs and the conclusion are usually pretty easy for me as well. On the other hand, the things I find difficult include: forming a strong, well-written thesis statement, forming a good/strong introduction, not being too repetitive/too comparable in my sentences, brainstorming ideas for the basis of the essay, finding better vocabulary to use, and keeping my essay in the word limit provided. Sometimes I believe I might be a little too “wordy”.…

In my own mind I tend to be a non-linear thinker. Why? Because, when a problem appears to me (any kind) I always gather possible ways to resolve it; even if it’s things that I have not touched or learned in my life for me it is STILL a possible way to do it. It might sound like an abstract or speculative way but in fact, logic for me is the only mean to reveal the facets of a problem. And that also define my MBTI result which is Introvert/Sensor/Thinker/Judger.…

When I start writing my personal writing techniques vary depending on the subject that I am writing about. I first start by selecting a topic, and then I start brainstorming to come up with new ideas so that I can keep my options open while I begin the writing process. Then I write down ideas and start free writing. After I start free writing I begin to look for resources that I can use in my work. After that I begin the writing process by making sure that I am in a quite area that is neat so that I can find everything that I will need to complete my work, and I begin my writing process. My writing has changed a lot since I started this course because I am not use to doing a lot of writing so I have begin to focus on writing more. I have learned many techniques for organization in writing to help me in this course and future courses. The organization skills that I have learned are to first make sure that I avoid distractions and make sure not to procrastinate, keep my deadlines for completing my work, and work on all assigned projects on time. What I have learned the most about organization is to prepare ahead of time, this is something that I need to do more so that I can do all of my work on time.…
