Different Kinds of Advertisements
Nowadays people are surrounded by different kinds of advertisements. Everywhere you look, you go, you exist there is some advertisement. There are many opinions about its usefulness and uselessness .Some people find it necessary to find the way to the consumers with advertising, some of them argue that. They insist on having freedom from all useless information they are burdened by media, billboards, leaflets, by different people trying to sell hard.
The main benefit, of course, is rather obvious. How can an average person find accurate information about the things he intends to buy? Advertising works for that, it gives a chance for everybody to learn about some new goods, some discounts or even a new politician. What is more, more and more people are working for advertising companies at present which provide a lot of work places therefore decreasing unemployment. There are some social advertisements which can reveal social problems and show people how to deal with them or to show them that they are not alone at least. What is more, advertisements draw public’s attention to some political issues encouraging people to take an active part in their country’s life.
On the other hand, advertising has its drawbacks, for instance, people are actually made to buy things or service which they don’t have a need for. They buy because they are said that it makes their life happier and purchasing shows their social status, the more they buy the more addicted they are. Shopaholism is caused by advertisements, which is considered as a big problem. Advertising companies work with our social instincts, we don’t want to differ from our kinds. They buy, we buy. Children are manipulated with vivid colours and their favourite cartoons’ characters.
In conclusion, to take everything into account, people should be careful with producing and accepting advertisement. Without advertising, I suppose, we wouldn’t have any business profits at all. Furthermore advertising companies make money which makes our world spin. But we shouldn’t forget how harmful advertisement can be for any people and especially for children without being thought thoroughly.
