Abstract
Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) is a psychological disorder characterized by extreme selfishness, lack of empathy for others, elevated self-esteem, extensive manipulativeness, and a overly powerful sense of self-entitlement. NPD is frequently described to stem from parental neglect and emotional abuse, sic neglect and abuse can cause extensive shame and guilt placed amongst its victims. The same and guilt its victims can later lead to NPD thus creating a vicious cycle for future generations. The paper gives insight the most recognized characteristics of shame, guilt, and narcissism to the emotional devastation that narcissistic parents can cause their children, the abuse that narcissistic people can cause to their partners, and a prime biblical example which proves shame and guilt can lead to the ultimate form of narcissism, destruction.

Whether or not a person is religious, it is undoubtably clear that the concepts of shame, guilt, and narcissism were recognized before common era.
