Difference Between Serial Killers And Serial Killings
Serial killings are individual murders that happen at different times by the same killer. Murderers have gone years without being caught. There are cases that go unsolved. Those who do get caught are at the mercy of the court. Extreme punishments include the death penalty and even life triple life sentences in prison. The Encyclopedia Britannica defines serial killing as “the unlawful homicide of at least two people, carried out in a series over a period of time.” This definition is widely accepted in the United States, Europe, and elsewhere but it has not been formally recognized in legal code. The debate stems from disagreements on the number of murders needed to classify the killing. There is a significant difference between mass murder, spree killings, and serial killings.

Their gratification comes from the amount or torture and sexual acts they can commit on the victim. An organized sexual killer can be highly intelligent and puts a great deal of planning into the attack. He often tricks his victim into traps and has his tools on hand. John Wayne Gacy was an american serial killer and rapist who sexually assaulted and murdered at least 33 teenage boys and young men between 1972 and 1978. He buried 26 of his victims under his home, buried three others elsewhere on his property, and discarded the remains of the last four in a nearby river.
