Didier Drogba Research Paper
Determination Always Pays Off

He has been dubbed one of the best African soccer players of all time. He has won the African player of the year award three times, and has broke numerous records, never before attempted by a black player. Also he is one of the most charitable soccer players of all time, winning numerous awards for his humanitarian work. Didier Drogba was born March 11, 1978 in the Ivory Coast. He was a five year old going to a foreign country by himself. All alone on a thirteen hour flight, parentless and unsupervised. Eventually, his uncle found him when he arrived in France. This bravery does show in his life as Drogba is not scared of any of his opponents. Drogba stated, "When I arrived in France, I cried every day. Not because I was in France--I could have been anywhere--but because I was so far, far away from my parents. I missed them so much”("Didier Drogba" Vol. 78). For such a young kid to be alone is terrible. Most kids grow up with at least a parent, but neither of his parents were around. Although he returned back to Abidjan at age eight, it was heartbreaking not having someone watching over
