In The Outsiders Ponyboy recites a poem on page 77. I believe that the meaning of this poem is that not everything is meant to last. In this poem, he talks about how the dawn becomes day, leafs turn into flowers, and how Eden sank to grief. All of these examples show how things can change. The time of change changes all time, as well as the seasons and more. This poem is saying that nothing in nature is meant to be the same all the time. Plants in nature grow old and slowly wither away, as time goes on. People also can change their appearance and how they act towards specific people. They may avoid them or change their thoughts about them.…

The first book begins with an introduction to Gregory (Greg) Heffley and his middle school life. It takes place during his sixth grade year. The book also explains the "cheese touch" early on. It is similar to the game of tag in which the person who touched the moldy cheese at the blacktop which has never been bothered to be taken off, after it had accidentally fallen out of someone's sandwich, a year earlier, had to get rid of it by touching someone else. In the first half of the book, events such as Halloween, learning how to wrestle, and acting in the play of The Wizard of Oz. During trick-or-treating, Greg and Rowley are ambushed by a group of teenagers. Then they take refuge at Greg's grandmother's house and taunt the teenagers from there by making sounds and faces at them. On Christmas Day, it shows Greg getting very few presents that he would like. Rowley bought Greg a Big Wheel. Greg then throws a football at Rowley while he is riding the the big whell and Rowley breaks his hand. At school, Rowley is surrounded by girls that encourage him to get well which makes Greg mad. Later, he and Rowley join the Safety Patrol whose responsibility is to walk home morning kindergarteners. However, Greg gets kicked off the Patrol for chasing the Kindergarteners with a worm. When Greg gets kicked off, Rowley starts to ignore Greg. Slowly, they begin drifting apart and Rowley starts hanging out with Collin Lee; and when he went to Rowley's house, Greg retaliates by spending his night at Fregley's. That turns into a disaster as Fregley goes hyper by eating too much candy, and Greg runs away in the middle of the night. Nearing the end of the school year, Rowley's comic strip is entered into the school's newspaper. Greg tells Rowley to list him as the co-creator because it was his idea and joke punchline. Rowley then denies that Greg had anything to do with it. They get ready to fight but are then interrupted by the teenagers they taunted on Halloween. They showed up to pay…

    Family and Wimpy Kid

This book is amazing; it is called Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules and it is a funny diary that is written in a really good, motivating way. It is written by Jeff Kinney and is based on a wimpy little boy whose big brother is annoying him.Characters:The main characters are Greg and Rodrick. Greg is the wimpy kid writing the diary and Rodrick is his big brother. Rodrick is really mean to Greg and always blames things on him when he hasn't done anything. Rodrick mistakenly thinks that he is an amazing drummer.Plot:Greg does some very stupid things and only Rodrick knows about them so Greg is relying on Rodrick not to tell anyone but, being a typical big brother, he does. They keep loads of secrets from their parents but bad things happen when they find out. Their mum has an idea that if they do chores she will pay them with board game money which they can trade in later for real money. Little does their mother know that Greg just buys more board game money. This book is written in fairly standard American English so they say things like “Mom” not Mum. They also say “Gramma” instead of grandma or grandmother. Although it is written in American English it did not affect the experience of reading it for me. It is written in the first person and some of the words do not follow the rules of Standard English spelling, e.g. “LAST” instead of last without capitals.Backround:Roderick Rules is the second book in a series. The first book is Diary of a Wimpy Kid and the third book is Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw. The series is an international best seller. My opinion on this book is that it’s light-hearted, funny, draws you in from the start and luckily there is another one waiting for you when you have finished. The cartoon illustrations complement the witty text and they really help to visualise the characters during their antics and adventures. I recommend this book to anyone between the ages of eight and twelve.I would…

Diary of a Wimpy kid : Hard Luck is a series written by Jeff Kinney. It’s also a realistic fiction. I would also give the book 41/2 stars because it was interesting and it made me laugh a couple of times. It was also clear to read and fun to read too. My favorite part was when Greg had no friends, because his friend ditched him for a girl. The book is mostly about a kid named Greg who needs his best friends help to get through middle school or junior high. Then he says he needs his best friends help. But also when he has his best friend he says that he could live without him. Greg thinks when he grows up he is go to be a millionaire and all that rich stuff. He also is a trouble maker. In conclusion, that’s my opinion on the book Hard Luck.…
