Topic: It is estimated that $4,000,000 die from diabetes every year. Someone dies of diabetes every 7 seconds (Gale).
General Purpose: To inform my class about diabetes.
Specific Purpose: To inform my class about diabetes
Thesis Statement: Diabetes is a serious disease that can be prevented and curable Introduction: I will talk to you today about what diabetes is and different ways to treat diabetes. Body:
I.Diabetes is condition where the body fails to utilize the ingested glucose properly. A.lack of the hormone[->0] insulin
1.The insulin that is available is not working effectively. B.2 types of Diabetes
1. Type 1
2. Type 2
C.Diabetes are classified as a group of metabolic disorders with one common manifestation 1. Hyperglycemia
2. Etiology and Path physiology
PAUSE/TRANSITION: Next, I will talk about ways to prevent diabetes.

II.A person can take different measures to lower his/her chances of developing diabetes. A.Lifestyles can affect the chances of future diabetes development 1.Smoking/Drinking
2.Be active and maintain healthy weight.
3.Eat healthy
PAUSE/TRANSITION: Finally, I will discuss the treatment for diabetes. III.There are various treatments for diabetes.
A.Insulin
B.Oral Medication
In conclusion
Conclusion: Everyone can become a victim of diabetes but we can decrease our chances of getting diabetes by being more informed on the disease and how to prevent it.
