This report provides critically evaluates the development of tourism in Brazil. It includes information what marketing and sustainability issues are and how they are addressed, the extent of the different stakeholders in the development of the country and also how they affect the national tourism policy and other actions that have developed the different business within Brazil.
In order to produce this critical report academic and non-academic resources have been used. The research draws attention to positive and negative impacts of tourism development. One of the biggest issues when it comes to sustainability in Brazil is the destruction of the Amazon Basin where the government has taken active approach to tackle this problem by signing pacts with other developing countries stating the stages of preserving the nature. Other sustainable developments include Low Carbon Agriculture which aims to reduce carbon dioxide, The National Environment Policy that intents to preserve the environment. The main marketing issue is that Brazil is perceived as a dangerous destination.
Stakeholder involvement in Brazil is high. This report describes the involvement of different stakeholders emphasising the fact that the government, as well as people can impact the development of the destination and it illustrates the effective relationship between the public and private sectors.
The last section of the report explains the way tourism influences business within the country, showing how the development of the industry in Brazil has had negative and positive impacts on the business both on a local and national level.
