My project is an original song that I wrote using only the electric guitar. The song begins with three parts singing together. The first of these parts is the echoing bass notes of D and G, driving the interval of a perfect fourth. The second is a muted, rhythmic line that consists of four notes and repeats on the beat. The third is simply a high F# played using the technique of harmonics and highly effected by reverb. These three parts play together on a loop throughout the entire piece, and represent the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. There is no real defining start to these parts, which represents the idea of a God without beginning. What is played thereafter (what might be considered the melody)…

As Fin walked along the street the leaves of the oak trees shone like patches of blue velvet, but when he stopped still nothing shimmered. The waves refused to move. The glow of the city still seeped into the morning sky, forever. He felt he must be dreaming, and yet he was sure he wasn't dreaming because everything felt so real. Surely his brain was not powerful enough to create such a masterful illusion. Or was it? He felt his head imploding just trying to figure it…

    Storyboarding Activity

The storyboarding was to demonstrate of how a muscle contracts and how it goes back to relaxation, but more importantly how each part does it function for this to happen. I was a little confuse about how the process happens, but I'm the type of person that can learn more when I have a visual so I think it was really helpful to to do the storyboarding. In today's labs I learned how the channels open and releases and let in the calcium. I complete my online before class and it was really useful for us to be able to put a outline with the different definition that everybody had, but it was a very good activity to do, because everybody contribute to have a better outline…

About noon, on the fifth day of their journey, Charity told Uriah to stop the wagon. Looking around, Uriah did not see anything in particular that caught his attention and did not know why she wanted him to stop; as far as he could tell, there was not anything they needed there. And, his mother had not gotten off the wagon to go do her business or said anything about eating lunch. So, after bringing the horses and wagon to a complete halt, he turned to Charity and asked, “Why did you want me to stop?”…

The prompt states that some students have a background that is so integral in their person it would be heinous to leave it completely out of the application. For me, this part of my identity is my schooling. Years ago, as a small 8th Grader, I was given a big choice, one that would shape my future from then on. I was given the option of leaving traditional schooling to instead join a school with a completely different culture. This school was New Technology High School. Obviously I decided to go, otherwise I wouldn’t be writing this essay, and it was honestly a life changing decision. New Tech was different, and it was a perfect fit for me. I have grown so much over the past four years, and the skills and applications I have acquired will be…

As a little girl, I had always been fascinated with technology. Whether it was pretending to “hack” into my dad’s laptop at 6 years old, or building remote control cars and running electrical circuits at age 8, my interest in technology was hugely inspired by my father. I wasn’t normal in the way you’d describe younger girls; by playing with dolls and makeup. Instead, I was the girl dirtied by the forest soil or fixated on taking apart anything electronic in the house. I went through a multitude of remote controls, pens, keyboards, and anything else that you could imagine having numerous pieces in it. I was enthralled by the way items were put together. And by combining pieces that seemed to be random metal and plastic, somehow you could make…

    Narrative Writing

If you choose to write a narrative, it should be a story in which either you or someone you know well was actually involved. You should avoid stories that simply recount accidents. What I mean is this: a good story needs to have the element of choice in it. If you describe an accident, you need to show that decisions led up to it. This story should be about people, about the decisions they make and the consequences that follow.…
