Designing a Voice Operated Intelligent Fire Extinguisher Vehicle
Voice operated Intelligent Fire extinguisher vehicle
The project aims at designing an intelligent voice operated fire extinguishing robotic vehicle which can be controlled wirelessly through RF communication. The Robotic vehicle has a camera mounted on it whose direction can also be controlled using voice commands. The proposed vehicle has a water jet spray which is capable of sprinkling water. The sprinkler can be moved towards the required direction. The advent of new high-speed technology provided realistic opportunity for new robot controls and realization of new methods of control theory. This technical improvement together with the need for high performance robots created faster, more accurate and more intelligent robots using new robots control devices, new drivers and advanced control algorithms. This project describes a new economical solution of robot control systems. The presented robot control system can be used for different sophisticated robotic applications. Speech is the primary and most convenient means of communication between humans. Whether due to technological curiosity to build machines that mimic human’s or desire to automate work with machine, research in speech recognition as a first step towards human-machine communication. Speech recognition is the process of recognizing the spoken word to take necessary actions accordingly. The controlling devices of the whole system are Microcontrollers. Speech recognition module, wireless transceiver modules, obstacle detector, lamp, water jet spray, DC motors and buzzer are interfaced to Microcontroller. When the user fed the voice commands to the speech recognition module, the microcontroller interfaced to it reads the command and sends relevant data of that command wirelessly using transceiver module. This data is received by the transceiver module on the robotic vehicle and feds it to microcontroller which acts accordingly on motors, pump and lamp. The vehicle is mounted with a camera which helps

The goal of our final project was to build a car that has the following two functions: 1) follow a path made by a white line 2) respond to a sound from the environment by stopping or starting itself. The project was built on the chassis used in the previous labs, and utilized two Line Follower sensor and one microphone provided in the lab kit. Besides, an Arduino Redbeard was used as the microprocessor of the car. The car was expected to power itself and demonstrate considerable reliability while meandering along the white line.…

As little as ten years ago, the thought of having a personal computer at one's office desk, home, or grade school seemed far‑fetched indeed. Now personal computers are accepted complacently as part of our modern world. Computer brains run cars, stereos, televisions, refrigerators, phone systems, factories, offices, airplanes, and defense systems, to name a few examples. The next progression of the computer as a mobile unit, robot, may like the personal computer, become a common and essential companion at home and in the workplace.…

Getting cats out of trees remains a simple task for firefighters compared to what will be discussed today. The fire service industry faces multiple challenges from day to day and from call to call. Firefighting remains a great deal more than hanging out and resting at the firehouse. Firefighting has a broad spectrum, for example, responding to motor vehicle incidents all the way to responding to large gasoline truck fires. In the scenario I will to provide, in greater detail, when it comes to fighting different types of flammable liquid fires and the appropriate approach that should be taken to effectively extinguish gasoline fires. Gasoline fires remain extremely different to each other, similar to various incidents in which firefighters respond to day to day.…

I would use an in-basket exercise for locating and rescuing fire victims. I would present the applicant with a scenario where they are entering a house that is on fire. If two small children are trapped on the second floor of the house I would want a potential firefighter to know how to locate the children. They should have good hearing and be perceptive to any noises or movements the children are making. If something is blocking easy access to the kids, I need to know that the applicant is creative and will find another way to help the children. Once the potential firefighter picks up the children I want to know how he or she will bring the children to safety. If the fire has escalated quickly, and the firefighter cannot go back the way they came up, I need to know how they plan on saving the kids. Firefighters need to be innovative and quick thinkers; otherwise nobody will make it out of the house alive. I need to know that the applicant can think their way out…

    Fire Protection Systems

There are several types of fire extinguishing systems. They are wet, dry, chemical and gaseous types of systems that can be implemented. The type of fire and the circumstance that created it will dictate which methods are the best, safest and most efficient ways to extinguish a fire. Examples would be kitchen fires, grease fires in particular are difficult to extinguish with water and sometimes counterproductive to extinguishing the fire. Wet chemical systems are most commonly used to extinguish kitchen fires. Dry chemical fires extinguish flammable combustible fires. They both use gas to expel the agent. Wet chemical extinguishing protects appliances and is used in commercial kitchens. Fires involving cooking fats and oils (classified as class K (US) or F (Australia/Europe/Asia)) burn hotter than flammable liquids, rendering a standard class B extinguisher ineffective. Flammable liquids have flashpoints under 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Cooking oil is a combustible liquid since it has a flashpoint over 100 degrees. Such fires should be extinguished with a wet chemical extinguisher. Extinguishers of this type are designed to extinguish cooking fats and oils through saponification. The extinguishing agent rapidly converts the burning substance to a non-combustible soap. This process is endothermic, meaning it absorbs thermal energy from its surroundings, decreasing the temperature and eliminating the fire. This process is known as Saponification. Saponifiable substances are those that can be converted into soap. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saponification, January 5, 2011)…

The task of the project is to improve the Novenco fire fighting system by designing a developed version without the problem of clogging. There have been made two alternative systems which both can eliminate the problem. To choose between the two alternatives I have made a preliminary plan for both cases. The plan consists of the best possible team for developing the new Novenco FF and a plan for how the project will progress. This will be a way to work together and structure the work in the best way which also reduces the cycle of time. Additionally it is systematic process to move the new fire fighting system through various stages which makes it move from an idea to launch.…

Abstract - The field of Robotics has been a fascination since the advent of computational technologies. To induce life into the robos, complex and powerful electronic components are required. Hence advance knowledge and great funds are required to build even small robots. These create hurdles to the beginners in this field. These hurdles can be overcome by adopting a new philosophy called Beam Robotics formulated by Mark. W. Tilden. Here minimal electronics are used and using solar power, miniature creatures are created first from which new prototypes can be evolved. Unlike conventional robos, which use costly microprocessor controlled architecture, these have interconnection of elementary circuits called Nervous Networks. Here a reconfigurable central network oscillator is utilized for autonomous and independent operation of components. Further it favors development of legged robos. The nervous technology provides (1) pulse delay circuits (neurons), interconnected in closed loops, which generate square waves and (2) pulse neutralization circuits. The central sequencing network and limb circuits control the direction of the motor thereby the motion of their legs. The advantage is that the use of microprocessors and costly components is eliminated and the processes are localized and self-sustaining. Thus beginners and students can implement the innovative ideas without having high knowledge, skill and fund. We are very happy to place this paper before the academic fraternity. Now it will be our pleasure to receive the reader’s feedback. We feel such a feedback is vital to improving the knowledge of an efficient engineer, thereby achieving its purpose.…

This paper considers the development of a brain driven car, which would be of great help to the physically disabled people. Since these cars will rely only on what the individual is thinking they will hence not require any physical movement on the part of the individual. The car integrates signals from a variety of sensors like video, weather monitor, anti-collision etc. it also has an automatic navigation system in case of emergency. The car works on the asynchronous mechanism of artificial intelligence. It’s a great advance of technology which will make the disabled, abled.…
