2. Design Outline
The proposed circuit is separated into different modules for clarity and eased of troubleshooting during set up. Figure 1 below shows the prototype circuit design for the system.

2.1 Comparator circuit
The red module represents the comparator circuit built using an Opamp which is connected to a voltage divider circuit consisting of a fixed resistor and the LDR. During the design of the system, the LDR is characterized to determine the range of its resistance with respect to different light intensity. The value of the fixed resistor is then determined after obtaining the range of the LDR. Subsequently, we also define the use a voltage divider circuit using potentiometer to create varying set points for our experiments to verify the functionality and robustness of the system.

2.2 Sensitivity circuit
The blue module of the circuit represents the part of the circuit which will control when the LED lights up or dims low its light intensity based on the output by the comparator. Design considerations have been included to design the system with a light sensitivity range which is desired. Two Opamps are used to provide the upper and lower limit of the sensitivity range i.e. if the comparator circuit outputs a voltage value which falls within the range, the LED should retain its light intensity, thus 2
