Descriptive Essay: The Flight To Kansas City
My heart beats like a drum as I board the plane to Kansas City. The airport intercom comes on, and I hear, “Attention all passengers, the flight to Kansas City is now boarding.” I give my mom and dad one last hug and walk slowly to the door. I find my seat and sit down.
Woosh! The jet engines start up, and we’re off. My ears pop, and I can only hear the beating of my heart. As we head over the Red River, the clouds began to thicken. The flight attendant asks me if I want a drink.
I politely say, “Can I please have a lemonade?”
Then I look through the window, and we are above the marshmallow clouds. I finish my drink, and we start descending down toward the dark thick clouds.
The pilot says in a shaky voice, “We are approaching a strong storm. Everyone please stay seated with your seatbelt fastened.”

I woke up tired on a beautiful, sunny, Tuesday morning. It was the day I had to fly to San Francisco for my job on a cruise ship. I had been in between cruises, so I had taken the chance to come see my parents in Newark, New Jersey. Later I realized that it could have cost me dearly. I changed into my pressed, white, long sleeved shirt with khaki pants and my sailors hat that I had to wear for my job as a deckhand. I arrive at Newark Liberty International Airport a hour before my flight, where I hug my parents goodbye. I walk in and go through security easily and go to my gate and wait for thirty minutes until we would be able to board.…

“Ohhh myyy godddd, I have I hated peanut butter and now the plane would smell like peanut butter for forever, great. “No thank you,” I sighed as I wiped the mixture of spit and peanut butter off of my face. I stood up and looked around me, hoping to find an escape from all of this absurdity. Then I saw it, in the front right corner of the plane was a small, blue box with some faint, illegible writing. I walked over to the box and noticed it was a parachute. An epiphany came across my body as I realized that this was my chance to depart from the plane. I immediately took possession of the parachute, opened the emergency exit, closed my eyes, and jumped out of the plane. I heard a loud thump and slowly opened my eyes. The sight around me was not the crummy, rickety plane, but instead, it was an old helicopter. Just as I thought things could not get worse, they…

Finally after just about five minutes the wheels of the airplane hit the ground and the captain of the flight gives the news that we have landed safe and on time. While we are waiting for the captain to tell us we could get off I start thinking of the things that might happen in my new…
