In between those two 45 minute half’s, players are given a 15 minute water break to restore their energy. The time you play really just depends on the age group of the league. If you play with your friends, most likely you will play less. Soccer is played on a rectangular field that has two soccer nets set up the opposite of each side. It’s normal if you don’t have a net to set up. When I was small we used chairs and trees to mark our soccer goal space. I also remember using the street curb as well. Simkin also mentions in his online article that many years back they also didn’t have cross bars or nets. They would build their own using sticks and strings to make their own net and crossbars. There should be no excuse to not participate in soccer because you can really use any object as a ball. You can also use random objects to mark the goal space. But keep in mind, try to avoid using animal bladders as soccer

Another reason to play soccer over other sports is because there are new skills to learn. There are more skills to be mastered in soccer than other sports. The basic skills one will need to master are dribbling, passing, heading, chesting, and trapping. When dribbling keep the ball close to one?s feet, tapping the ball every step; as a result, one should stay in control using both feet. When heading the ball hit the ball just above one?s forehead, either to another player or to one?s feet. When trying to chest the ball, let the ball bounce off one?s chest to their feet. The last skill is trapping. Trapping is stopping the ball when it is kicked with one?s feet, giving in as the…

One of my favorite places to just sit and stare in amazement is a baseball field. There is so much to look at and take in before during, and after a baseball game. When you first walk up to a nice baseball field it takes your breath away. The freshly cut grass not only puts off a fresh, relaxing smell floating in the air, but the sight of the bright vivid green can not be compared to anything. The pattern of the mower makes the entire field look like a gigantic checker’s board. It is so perfectly cut there is not a single blade misplaced, as though is was taken out of an artist’s painting.…

People say everyone's a winner. I really didn’t believe that when I was little. So when I was still playing tee-ball (baseball that little kids play with a tee) and I was in the championship game, I was going for blood. It was late 2008 and I was playing for the GBSF (Green Baseball Softball Federation) team named “The Aeros.” We wore purple, black and had the Akron Aeros baseball team’s logo embroidered on our hats. So anyway, this particular season, we “Titans of Tee-Ball” went undefeated. I believe we went 14-0 or something like that. It was a very crazy season, especially the championship game; but we will get back to that later. I faintly remember one particular game…

Now that you have an idea of the rules of professional soccer, I will continue to explain the popularity and passion of the game. Soccer is very widely played all over the world. The most prestigious international soccer competition is that of the world cup, held every four years, it lasts about a month, the most recent one being held in South Africa world cup 2010. With more than a billion viewers a day and tuned in to approximately 30 billion times, it is more popular than the Super Bowl, the World Series, the Masters, and the NBA finals. One reason many researchers believe it is so popular, especially in third world countries is because of the lack of things needed in order to play. All you need is a goal and a ball. The goal in soccer is on ground, while the goal in American football is in the air. In football, each time you score is called a “touchdown” that’s worth 6 points, whereas in soccer, you only receive 1 point, which is called a “gol.” American football players must wear a helmet and body protectors, however, in soccer you are forbidden from wearing these. The second most striking difference between these two sports is the way to pass the ball. Soccer players must pass the ball by their legs, and passing by hand is not allowed for them, except the goalkeeper. He can touch it with his hand only in one area. Unlike soccer players, American football players can pass the ball by hands or…
