Descriptive Essay: My First Trip To The Iowa State Fair

I have always been weirdly amused by carnivals. It’s interesting to watch all of the eagerly excited young kids waiting in line for their favorite rides and for their favorite foods. It reminds me of when I was little. Still to this day, an amusement park gives me a rush that I can’t receive from anywhere else. It’s the excitement and the thrill that makes me want to come back for more. Last year, I took my first trip to the Iowa State Fair. The largest fair in the entire state of Iowa. Walking into the front gate, I looked up at the gigantic sign that read out the famous words, “Nothing Compares to the Iowa State Fair.” It all hit me at once. The looming smell of all the food. The buttered popcorn, sugary cotton candy, and the juicy burgers.
