Descriptive Essay: Ellen's Stardust Diner
If you are looking for an “out of this world” experience located only a few blocks from Times Square then look no further. After being unable to secure our place at the famous Ellen’s Stardust Diner, my group and I set off in search of a replacement breakfast joint. It was a straight shot to the diner, not difficult to find at all. This is where we found the Galaxy Diner, only about a ten-minute walk from Times Square, in a more quiet area of the city. Open twenty-four hours, as soon as you walk through the door you are met with mouth-watering aromas and a friendly wait staff. It’s a casual sit-down diner, with numerous planets on the walls and features a picturesque view of outer space on the ceiling. It’s marvelous and breathtaking at the same time. There is some of the best early 2000’s music playing over the low murmur of other guests. Even though there was a big group of us, we were sat immediately amongst three different tables. This diner seemed to be a place for early morning workers to sit and enjoy some coffee and a quieter atmosphere than the city outside.

Even though my group of twelve was only able to taste some of their breakfast selections, portions were big and you definitely received what you paid for. A few settled for numerous breakfast dishes all piled together on one plate with whipped topping and sugary syrups while others went for pancakes or waffles. The hot chocolate was served in a delightful glass

I decided to take off the half a star as a result of the pepper toboggle. But the rest of my dining experience was great so I didn’t want to negatively affect my overall rating of the Galaxy Diner for that reason. Despite being unable to be serenaded by Broadway wannabes at Ellen’s Stardust Diner, the Galaxy Diner turned out to be a great turn of events. Had it not been for Alyssa’s love for all things astronomical, we wouldn’t have chosen such an fascinating hidden

With their take on a “fast-casual” restaurant, co-owners Will Cumberland, Baird Cumberland and Stephen Chan have introduced a unique dining experience fit for its young and urban neighborhood: casual and quick in its service (a great choice for those in a tight lunch break) but at the same time chic and relaxed in its vibe where you can stay longer and have a few beers with friends. The ambiance created from its décor to its menu and the cool atmosphere provided by itskitchen and staff is very welcoming and resonates a holistic vision of Wilbur Mexicana. It is not just a place to get delicious and reasonably priced Mexican street-food but also a place to hangout and share memorable food…

One of my favorite restaurants to eat at is Azteca it’s a family operated restaurant by four bothers. The atmosphere of Oregano’s is very grasping to the audience. The lively music playing from Frank Sinatra while you walk in gives you the chills of refreshing jazz music. When you start to walk around you get a sense of a comfortable home feeling that is very cozy. Everything from when you first pull up is related to an old 1940 pizza joint. At the Phoenix location I noticed that they had an outside area to eat that was decorated with lights and little round tables. Even when eating outside they had speakers outside so you can still hear the soulful voices of the jazz musicians. The brick walls that surrounded the building made the place have that much character. To get to your seats you had to pass by a bar that was decorated with old bottles from the early 1900’s. These little details excited me because I appreciated that they took the time to find things that made that much of an impact to observers like myself. Oregano’s had small 12” TV’s scattered all around the development. No, they were not flat screens, or modernized TV’s at that. They were not even made in this century, they were actually in black…

The sliding glass doors swish open as I walk near them. As I walk in to inside, the volume of sound changes. I can hear people chattering and kids screaming. I can smell the food court's hamburgers, chicken, and pizza, as well. The smell lures me in, guiding my nose towards the enticing scents. When you walk by the Chinese place, Panda Express, passes out free samples of teriyaki chicken. It tastes sweet and tender, causing your mouth to salivate. The free samples satisfy my taste buds making me want more. I let them taunt me into buying food. Walking around, the different smells seize my nose, bringing different feel to each restaurant.…

As my girlfriend and I pull into a crowded parking lot during a chilly Friday evening, we struggle to find a spot of our own, but manage to do so as we take the place of another young couple as they pull out to leave. I put the car in park as we both gaze at the numerous parties walking into the restaurant. A bright sign, hung lit overhead, shining the phrase "Applebee's Neighborhood Bar and Grill" atop a red brick building. Awnings were placed above every window, and resting on the ground, between each window, was a wooden park bench surrounded by lush, green foliage on either side. The whole place looked as if it had been pulled straight from a friendly neighborhood in the heart of the big apple. I knew we had made the right dinner decision even before walking in the large, double doors. Applebee's has always been a favorite of mine. There is rarely ever a wait to be seated and thrown into the laid back, neighborhood atmosphere that they aim to provide. Their service is exceptional, with quick and courteous staff members which you encounter as soon as you walk in. And depending on what you order, you can always count on Applebee's to present you with not just a meal, but an experience for both your eyes and your taste buds.…

The novel that I chose to write my essay on is "Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe", By Flannie Flagg.I chose to write my essay on this book because the author uses past events to help show how they have affected future scenarios. The message is that love is love. The author uses the plot to convey the message by having Idgie and Ruth both lose Buddy, who is Idgie's older brother and Ruth's lover. They both feel pain and remorse over Buddy's death but, in different ways, all at the same. Over time, Ruth and Idgie begin to love each other as sisters. So does Evelyn, a character that plays a different part in the book later in Idgie's life. Evelyn is a middle aged woman that comes to Idgie's nursing home to visit her own mother-in-law who has a dislike for her. Over time, Idgie tells Evelyn her story through the hardships and happiness through parts of her life. They quickly become the best of friends, almost like sisters to one another. Evelyn feels almost as deep of a…

Have you ever imagined of a room that sent such a good vibe that you thought it was too good to be true? Well, that is how this lunchroom was. When I walked in the first thing I say was the bright lit faces of the john Adams middle school students.Their faces were so astonishing that it but a big smile on my face. The poster filled walls were a bright baby blue with a hint of green. The tables were stunning. The colors were so remarkable that they were almost blinding. The pillars that stood high were covered with flyers of all colors. But the best thing of all was the smell coming from the cafeteria. It smelled like fresh pizza out of the oven. But what they were serving was much better than pizza, it was cheesy bread sticks. As my waiter…

Walking into a fast food joint, one expects to be met by a sweet aroma of the delicious foods that are quite appealing. Considering they are supposed to serve customers as fast as they can while at the same time maintaining quality service. Upon entering a fast food restaurant, one would expect to have a view of the whole place in a glance, with counters just around the bend for customers to make their purchase. One would also expect to find people around helping customers make fast purchases as well as clearing tables for people to eat. Without such quality, a fast food restaurant cannot be up to par. Burger King is the fast food restaurant I visited a few days ago, and fortunately did not disappoint my expectations; rather, I was surprised by their smooth, fast service and tasty foods as well as the restaurant itself.…
