Every business owner remembers how it started its business and how it evolved naturally, as well as, the work ones put to find the right resources in order to improve it. Each of business companies at a certain point will ask itself whether the market it is serving its needs and if there are any other opportunities. What Davis Group was considering in its strategy was to study the three main strategies, takeover (acquisition), merger or creating a new company. In addition, a research on the possibilities available and on paths to follow is necessary. Understanding the market, the business culture of the place, laws and regulations and understanding how their advantage can benefit them in opening a success company in a certain country. Davis Company was a leader in the market of its country. The acquiring would benefit their company to expand outside of its country. The opportunity of acquiring Berendsen was a good one as it had certain benefits like the good geographical expansion and the very good reputation it had on the market. In this case what Davis Company had to improve was the financial situation of the company which mainly was caused by bad management. It needed less investment just a new financial management strategy by applying existing knowledge and also considering other business culture factors.
