Describe The Writing Process
When one is writing, they use a method called the Writing process. Every individual has their own way of going about this process. The four distinct steps that are involved in this is prewriting, drafting, revising, and editing. Any good writer will follow these steps to make a successful paper. I chose “ Writing is like trying to smooth ripples from water with one's hand--the more I try, the more disturbed things get. “(Kij Johnson, The Fox Woman, 2000). Personally, it means that when I write, I create a plan and take in my grasp. Then, when I try adding new ideas and details it gets “rippled” or reciprocated. Even when you try to smooth your writing out there is always going to be something that is getting changed. I think that is what makes writing interesting. …show more content…
I immediately start to think of plans that I have to cancel to accomplish this homework and of course jot down some various notes on the subject. For example, how she would like it written, the format, and just small details that I can go back to when I begin my writing. All writers in my opinion have a certain environment they like to write in. It could be any type of environment depending on whether you like to be alone or out in public. I preferably love to go to my favorite coffee shop, Starbucks. Honestly, they know my name and order when I walk up. I like to take it as a compliment for being such a valued and appreciated

How do you set goals for writing an academic paper?: Generally I research the topic of the paper then I make a diagram to list all the topics I need to cover after that I begin writing a rough draft to organize my thoughts. Once I have everything written out in the proper manner I go back and proofread to check for any errors. It is easier for me to do it in steps than it is to just write a paper without any research, organization, or proofreading. I want my…

Post your assignment, Review the additional resources Today I am going to discuss the steps I take to write a paragraph. Before I do anything, I make sure I have a quiet area to work in and a clear mind so my writing process begins smoothly. I sit in front of my laptop and begin writing what I would like to talk about, which is called discovering and brainstorming. Then after I have done that I start narrowing down what I want to write about such as: Topic sentence and supportive details. After this, I usually go on to compose a rough draft pretty quickly. By drafting what I have written, It allows me to take out the things that strike me as worth keeping or not. Then after I have done that I revise the draft by rearranging ideas and reshaping sentences to make clearer connections. Carefully after examining the paper to see that it contains any errors of grammar, spelling, or punctuation for the last time I write a final paper. In conclusion, the four stages of writing like discovering, drafting, revising, editing and proofreading has help me and guided me to write effectively.…

Personal Essay Prewriting The five steps of the writing process are equally vital to the succession of any writing assignment, whether it is for work or school. The five stages include PREWRITING, PLANNING, DRAFTING, REVISING, and PROOFREADING. As our text (Arlov, 2014), explains, “Writing is not a single act, but a process composed of several steps,” (p. 3). Moreover, constructing a strong paper that is well-written (no matter how tedious it seems), requires efficaciously executing all five phases. It is crucial not to take shortcuts by eluding any step of the writing process.…

My writing process is usually all over the place, I have to be in my room with my door shut, my music on, my fan on, and my television on, weird, I know, but that is what I have to do in order to keep myself concentrated. After I am all situated I begin by writing down different ideas on a couple sheets of paper, listing ways I could support this idea and how it relates to my topic, sometimes when I am stuck I look up sample essays online to help me out of my rut. Once I finally choose an idea I start writing the first things that pop into my head down on another sheet of paper, it usually ends up being a jumbled mess that only I can understand. My writing process all depends on what I am writing. Some writings I can sit down and write the whole things and be done with it, while others can take me multiple days or even weeks. I normally sit down and work on it until I finish, get tired of it, or a hit a roadblock. I try to stop when I feel like I am writing the same thing over and over or if I feel like I just need a break. Most of the time, if I feel like I am writing and it is really bad, it is because it is and I need to take a break and come back to it later. Working on it in pieces normally works well for me, to break it up and take it a little bit at a time. I normally struggle when I do not like what I am writing about or when I run out of information to put in my writing. I…

As a student coming fresh out of high school I am still used to writing as I have been taught since I was in middle school. We were taught to outline, make a first draft, have someone read that draft, revise and then hand in the final copy. This is a long and boring process that has not changed and is always so repetitive. We always had to write five paragraph papers about things that would never be relevant to my future. In this class I hope to change my approach and how I feel about writing.…

Process writing is a style of writing that uses the previously read text as a resource for comparison. This form involves taking key points and ideas from the text to begin writing.
