Describe The Differences Between Hamilton And Hyeonseo Lee
People die every day due to dangerous situations but there are skills that can help people survive. Bethany Hamilton was able to survive a shark attack, Aron Ralston managed to escape from being trapped under a rock, and Hyeonseo Lee managed to escape from North Korea. Each of them was able to use a different skill that aided in their survival. To be a survivor people should stay calm, be smart, and have self-control.

To begin, being calm has helped many people survive dangerous situations. This can be seen when Bethany Hamilton stays calm after a shark attack and is easily able to contact someone for help and is easily able to let them help her (ABC News). Being calm allowed Hamilton to easily get someone and allowed her to easily tell them what happened. Being calm also allowed her to listen to ideas that might help her survive and easily implement them. This skill also reduced the amount of fear that her and people around her were experiencing allowing her to easily get help from others. Being calm during a dangerous situation can help people survive.

Another useful skill to have in a dangerous situation is being smart. Being smart can be shown when Ralston "organizes his options in order of preference: excavate the rock around his hand with a multitool knife; rig ropes and an anchor above him to lift the boulder off his hand; and

When Hyeonseo Lee was sent to china, she was caught by the Chinese police and brought to the police station where they questioned her. She managed to control the emotions inside of her and answer the questions correctly (Lee). Lee showed self-control because she managed to hide her fear and pass the test. Self-control helped her stay is china by making the Chinese police think she was not from north Korean. This skill also helped her to not get sent back to North Korea and kept her in China.
