Respect is a basic fundamental trait that has been embedded into the minds of generations and generations of people worldwide who were raised by decent parents. Respect is what ensures likability in our communities and our workplaces concerning the people around us. In today’s society, respect is still a major functioning unit we so heavily rely on. To acquire a job, do well in school, go to college, or participate in normal human affairs would be one hundred percent inconceivable without the aid of respect. As many have come to learn, just because one person feels one way, it’s not necessary to state your opinion on it. Complying with peers and authority is what makes life just a little bit easier. Instead of students doing their work when they miss school for an extracurricular event, they would expect their teachers not to give them anything because they didn’t have class time to do it. A businessman might believe that he deserves the new spot because he has been at his company the longest, rather than factoring his work ethic into the equation. Entitlement discredits any hard work and any steps one might that to take to better their lives.
