How I define success…
What is success? If someone would look in the dictionary, they will find success as a favorable or desired outcome, the attainment of wealth, favor, or eminence. After moments of thoughts they will be convinced that the question is not an easy one to answer. We always hear people talking about successful persons, but we never know what they mean by it? If someone has houses, land, has large bank accounts, and has many apparent friends is accounted successful. If someone has a loving family but does not have a large bank account, does this mean he/she is not successful…? Many of the most enduring and satisfying forms of success has nothing do with acquiring power, wealth, or fame. Some people believe that only money defines success. Money can buy apparent

Success is having good friends, a happy family, and good health.

Having a successful life does not necessarily mean being rich and famous, but rather being content with the decisions that have made in your life. Prominent people, for example, have a lot of money, big houses, and tons of expensive cars but may not be successful in their life. A real example is Phil, he wasted all his life in accumulating money, and at the end what did he acquire…-his death. It is hard to find someone with this attributes but is not impossible. Friends are like marvels, there are a lot of them, but we should find the best ones. Friends are what makes our life different and are always there for us when we need them. Secondly having a happy and understandable family is another key of being successful. Families are said to be "the root of every living soul." In other words, families are what brought us into being, what gave us life, what shaped our values and beliefs, and what ultimately launched us towards our own

Success is setting goals and being at peace knowing you competently completed them. In The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald uses success as being wealthy because it would help the main character, Gatsby, get the girl of his dreams, Daisy. He threw huge parties to show off his wealth, lied about his past and disowned his family, and died chasing after his dream girl. Instead he should’ve been telling the truth about his past, creating bonds to make friendships last, and pursuing the true happiness of living a rich lifestyle.…

Merriam-Webster defines the word success as “the fact of getting or achieving wealth, respect or fame.” The definition of success differs from one person to another. Most people work hard throughout their life to achieve goals and be successful in their careers. That might mean acquiring a secondary education, being able to provide for one’s family, achieving a life’s ambition, or acquiring wealth. However, to a homeless man living in a busy city of New York, success might simply mean attaining enough cash to purchase a small meal. Success through the eyes of a United States Marine may be avoiding death in order to see one’s family. Perceptions of success can be faulty. In most cases, one can be successful in one part of life and be a total…

Many people say wealth is the key to measuring success; they are wrong. Success should be measured upon ones happiness, the friends one has and if their goals in life have been attained. It is like saying you can never buy happiness. The American dream is often considered being affluent, but once one becomes rich- if ever- that's all he ever gains and won't be truly happy or successful. This is confirmed time after time again in F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby and in other readings and movies; it has in all probability been proven in your own experiences also. Success is like a rubber-band ball where you keep building and building upon it in hopes to make it a truly grand item to boast.…

While some people equate having wealth and power as being successful, that is often not the case. Although earning and having money is an important aspect of our economy and existence, earning large sums of money is not an accurate way of measuring nor determining if a person is successful or not. Those who find true satisfaction in life, regardless of their wealth or social status, are the ones who have reached true success. As put into words by award-winning author Maya Angelou, "success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it." True success is achieved when an individual has reached a point in their life where their goals and achievements are meaningful and…

When you look someone rich or famous you automatically assume that they are successful. However, this is only an outward appearance. Most of the time these “famous” people are stressed way beyond what is noticed by the public. They are not truly happy because they are way too concerned with the way they live their lives since people are constantly watching their every move. The true meaning of success is to have “a good result, happy outcome” (“Success”). Estee Lauder once said, “I never dreamt about success, I worked for it.” Success is setting a personal goal and working hard toward it, and ultimately your hard work and dedication leads to a favorable outcome.…

Success in my opinion can only be defined as what was left behind to be experienced or built upon for the next generation. This would be a legacy left to others which speak to your contribution to society and family. Material possession and financial gain does not identify success, but could be a benefit of success. Success is built upon generation after generation of contributions.…

What do you think the definition of success is? My definition of someone’s success would be when she has accomplished something she wanted to accomplish. First, achieving an achievement is great success to have. Even if that goal is to make someone smile, I have had success at doing something. Second, one the people in my thoughts that has had great success to me is my grandfather. My grandfather is one of my biggest role models because of all the success he has had in his life. Finally, another person I consider having success is my mother. My mother is the best mom in the world because no matter if she feels great she always makes sure we have food to eat, clothes to wear, and many other thing. My mother and grandfather are the…

While spending time thinking about the goal in my life, the only one answer coming up in my mind is to achieve success. But what exactly the word ‘success’ should be defined? Thinking considerably, there are at least two fundamental achievements in life that inspire people. One is to be rich, while another one is to be famous. Though these two words are somehow closely related if you think about the celebrities who are famous and rich at the same time, there are some others who only have high recognition but not rich, such as Mother Teresa who devoted her whole life doing charity for the poor. Therefore, the topic that I am really interested in is about whether to be rich or to be famous is the key word for success.…

The media and today's society have brainwashed the citizens of the world to believe the deceit that in order to be successful you need to have the largest house, newest car, clothes, five star dining, and to travel every other month. This is how success is defined, this is what many aim for. But it is not however how I was raised, my mom taught me that the definition of success, similar to life is in the eye of the beholder, and most importantly success should be a synonym for a person's happiness. You can drive a Bentley and live in a million dollar, but you're not truly successful you love what you do, and love accomplishing your goals more than receiving the award.…

A measure of success is how happy a person is. For some, they’d feel their happiest when they have luxurious items. However, this isn’t true and is not a real measure of success. Happiness for most people is a loving family. If it’s someone’s definition of success, then family is what defines their success. For others, this might mean trying new things and a lifestyle that supports it. Success is tied in with happiness because they are both highly subjective.…
