“The tests we face in life’s journey are not to reveal our weaknesses but to help us discover our inner strengths. We can only know how strong we are when we strive and thrive beyond the challenges we face.” - Kemi Sognule. My definition of success is someone who overcomes personal hardship and shoots for something better. First, the definition of success, from my point of view, is when one overcomes struggles. Being successful after hardship is an incredible accomplishment and is a perfect example of real success. Second, my mum has succeeded in life despite her struggles. In particular, life itself is a hardship and perfect example. Life throws countless interferences. To be honest, being happy can be challenging when life makes it hard to stand up without falling numberless times. Shifting through life’s doubting moments and complications can either make or break a person. Succeeding throughout one’s life whether it be immediately or down the road, is an example of real success. In addition, family can also be an obstacle on the path to success. Family may not be supportive causing conflicts and issues throughout the family. Family can also barely feel like family due to abandonment, causing one lots of mental hardship. Getting past family complications can be difficult due to the idea that family should be the most important part of one’s life, but can bring lots of personal success. One’s future can also be a hardship on the road to success. Not being sure of what to do for the can make current life burdensome. The future is something that is supposed to be planned early in life. When the future is always uncertain it can be difficult to plan for.
