Debbie And Drowsy: A Short Story
Debbie and Drowsy were two sisters who lived in the town of San Gobble De-Gook. Debbie was blonde blue eyed and popular. Everyone in her high school loved Debbie. Her sister Drowsy was not so popular; weighing in at 400 pounds and having lost three of her teeth in a golfing accident. Due to both her appearance and lack of friends Drowsy was also drifting into a state of deep depression. Their home life wasn't much better than Drowsy’s appearance, their father, a functioning alcoholic would consistently beat Drowsy when he was drunk. Their mother had left when they were only 3 years old. Being twins, Debbie and Drowsy were much closer than most teenage sisters. For their 16th birthdays Debbie had the idea that it would be fun to go down to the local bar, being 16 in San Gob meant you could finally drink legally. As usual stepping into the bar all eyes went to Debbie. Not minding at all, Debbie promptly went up to the tall attractive man at the end of the bar and started talking to him. Drowsy not being much of a looker or social butterfly went to the only thing she had been taught by her father, to drink and drink hard. By the time Debbie had three different men buying drinks for her, Drowsy was belligerent and talking to everyone in the bar. When she came into Drowsy room there was no one there, just a note Drowsy had left for her sister. The note Read “Dear Deb, went out to get some stuff be back tonight.” Debbie didn't think much of it and headed to school. At school everyone was asking Debbie about the obese “man” that got punched in the face last night at the bar. Debbie explained to them what Drowsy had done and as usual everyone laughed.     The nightmare began when Debra was born. She was “The Devil’s Daughter” as her schizophrenic mother called her. Her mother stated that her child was from the devil in a family where she wanted only male children. Sexually abused herself as a child, Debra’s mother began to abuse her daughter at birth, putting her crib in a confining closet at the back of the house. She was convinced that her newborn daughter Debra was going to destroy her marriage and would end up having sex with her husband. Debra, being the oldest daughter, took the full brunt of her Mother’s abuse, although younger sister Danielle was also badly mistreated when she was born. They were both routinely subjected to deprivation and homicidal rage, yet Debra was her Mother’s main target. Within days of being force fed adult sedatives, Debra fell into a coma, losing sensory perceptions. Her Father found her on the floor of her closet reeking of urine and feces in a comatose state. She was rushed to Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, where she spent several weeks recovering from her Mother-inflicted drug overdose.The overdose was reported to social services, which finally stepped in and took serious action against the family, telling them that Debra would be placed in a home in southern Missouri for a year until the family decided whether or not they wanted her or could take care of her.Debra eventually was returned to her family after her one year stay at a foster home and the abuse continued the day after she arrived back home.…

The police and Joe were watching what Mary was doing to Mike. She was screaming and yelling at him, but he had the food in his hand. Mary grabbed a fork and got so mad that she threw a fork at Mike and the fork hit Mike's head.
