This decision you are hypothetically making stares so many people in the face each day. What would you do if you were told you had only six or less moths to live? On top of knowing you have so little time, you, in those few months, will experience severe pain, discomfort, and emotional distress beyond comprehension. Therefore, I ask you again, death or death? 43 percent of America’s terminally ill patients are due to cancers, 34 percent are due to chronic illnesses, 23 percent are due to heart disease, four percent are due to accidents, three percent are due to suicide, and those are just a few of the big reasons people

There are numerous ways to promote another person, and a time when this is seen is on political campaigns. The spouses of presidential candidates hold an important role in persuading the public to vote for their spouse, and a common way for them to do this is to use pathos to appeal to the emotions of their audience. For most people, personal connections and decisions are made with a close link to emotions and the feelings that one associates with that person or decision. During the presidential campaigns and the voting process this emotional connection is especially important. Now, I know what you’re thinking; “Why would you help someone kill themselves? Can’t they get help?”. Well, it’s not always that simple. I believe that assisted suicide should be offered, after extensive counseling, for organ donations, those with chronic illnesses, and to help the person get their affairs in order and to go peacefully without the attention of the press on their family after their death. According to the United Nations, allowing a suffering person the liberty of having control over their death is a basic human right. Some places, like the Netherlands, already allow physician assisted suicide. Not all cases of suicide are for those with depression or other issues that are typically associated with suicide.…

The only times I have ever given speeches in my life have been in high school. Junior year I had to take a speech class and I only remember one speech in particular. I did a persuasive speech on euthanasia where I was basically arguing for the right to die. This speech is the most memorable because we spent a lot of time researching our topics, and I loved this topic. Although it was a hard topic to think about I really enjoyed reading about it and getting to share the information with my class. I especially enjoyed learning about the history behind euthanasia, so focused my speech around it. Since it was a persuasive speech I used many examples of how euthanasia was used before and how it helped a lot of people through history.…
