Death of a Friend

Have you ever had someone you were fairly close to, even had a strong relationship with them, pass away? I have, his name was Peter Janke, he died July 20th, 2013 and he was going to be a freshman at Ninilchik High School.
The day started out pretty good, it was a nice partially sunny day, and just a normal lazy day with my family. We were coming back from the store, when I decided I wanted to check my Facebook to see what was up with the world. When I got on Facebook, I saw that Peter’s sister had posted something and decided to check it out. It said, “ To family and friends that have heard the rumor about the recent death in my family, yes it is true, Peter Janke is no longer with us and will forever be missed. Regardless of who his parents were, he was my little brother and did not deserve to die at 14...R.I.P.” After looking at that post and re-reading it over and over, I finally got it through my brain that my best friend had passed away. I was so shocked, I thought that someone was just messing around but I realized that no one would be that mean. So to be sure, I messaged my friend, and one of Peter’s closest friends, Christopher, to see if it was true. It was. At that moment I started crying forgetting that my mom was sitting in the car, driving, trying to talk to me, while I was blocking everything and everyone out of the world and just thinking why and how did this happen.
I messaged Chris again, saying “ I hate to ask, but I need to know, how did this happen?” It took a couple minutes for him to answer back and he told me that Peter, another friend, and himself, went to Clam Gulch with Peter’s new four-wheeler on the beach, and when they were riding near the bluff, there was this clear net type thing for net fishing tied or stuck to something, Peter was going pretty fast, about 65-70 mph, and it knocked his helmet off and he crashed and broke his neck. After I was done reading I started bawling scaring my mother. Again, blocking everything out, I

I was just as shocked as everyone else when I first met my friend Uzo, his life has been everything but regular just because of his skin color and nationality. In fact, what makes him so distinctive is the mixture of both his black skin color and Ukrainian descent.
