Ancestry Means a lot To Some People, Not All People

To some, the importance of history and ancestry is not a point of interest. When Obi was chosen to become the leader of the Ndume Central school, he decided to have something that meant a lot to many removed. There was a path that a teacher who has been at the school for about three years stated, “the path appears to be very important to them. Although it is hardly used, it connects the village shrine with their place of burial.” Michael no longer wanted the path to be there at his school. Ani, a village priest shared with Michael the significance of the path, but he didn’t care.

This is one story I wouldn’t mind forgetting about. It shouldn’t be a big deal if he doesn’t want the path there. Once he became leader of the school, it became his and he has the right to do what he wants with it. Sometimes something that means a lot to you or you value it, doesn’t mean that special thing has to mean anything to someone else. Every one has their own things that they cherish. If the path really meant something to them, they should’ve built it at a park or something.

After Obi said he was going to have the path removed from his school building, two days later all the flowers were stomped out on the floor between the school and the village. I believe that the village started disliking the fact that Michael Obi, something who wanted something valuable to many to be destroyed, was going to be the new school leader. To make everyone happy, they could’ve talked out ways to keep the path, just maybe not in his school yard, or maybe put it in the back of the building. Being a leader takes a lot of responsibility, and you have to be ready for everything that’s thrown at you.

What characteristics describe heroes? How can one tell a hero apart from an ordinary person? My definition of a hero is a person who will achieve their goals, no matter how difficult their situations are. A hero also needs to be motivational, kind, courageous, and strong at heart. A hero will do everything possible to live up to their beliefs and do the moral thing. Now, a new question arises: Is Okonkwo, the main character in Chinua Achebe’s novel Things Fall Apart, a hero? Some might say that he’s a hero – after all, he is a powerful, prosperous, and well-respected man. Nevertheless, I believe that Okonkwo is not a hero; he doesn’t show the characteristics of being kind nor motivational. He doesn’t try his best to do the moral thing, and…

Things Fall Apart illustrates the beauty and fragile nature of the Igbo clan, and the tragic downfall of their entire culture. The title, Things Fall Apart, has a deep meaning that brings the unfortunate situation of Umuofia to light. The Second Coming, and Things Fall Apart, have striking similarities in their themes, and the ideas present in both of the pieces, making them seem as if they are written by the same person, or are somehow connected. In Things Fall Apart, Chinua Achebe chose the title of his book to illustrate the tragedy of losing a culture to the destruction of evil.…

Another reason why your article is extremely biased is the heart warming moment when Mr.Goddard jumps out behind his office door, assembling a “V” with his fingers to his deputy head Mr. Drew. You have cited this as an extremely childish thing to do. Although most reasonable people in the nation saw this as a close bond between a head teacher and his deputy head who work in an extremely stressful working environment, letting of some steam behind closed doors and away from the students eyes. Although some people may see this as a childish thing to do, I imagine running a comprehensive school can be extremely difficult and stressful.…

(Origin) When thinking about my family and our roots I identify my family’s places or origin as Germany and Ireland. A majority of my family is of German ancestry and the one exception is my grandmother and she is Irish. I identify these too places as where my family came from due to stories that I have hear from family members and to the traits that each member of my family carries. A majority of my family are all blonde hair, with blue or brown eyes which have a lot of similarities to people from Germany. My family as very few of the traits from the Irish side but the only ones the I have been told are that some people in our family freckle a lot when they have been out in the sun for long periods of time. As for knowing anything about why or how my ancestors came to the United States it is pretty much a mystery to me. It is something that has never really been talked about much. I do know that my grand parents on my mother’s side of the family ended up living in Texas as that is where the rest of my grandfathers family was living and my grandmother was originally from Alabama. As far as my father’s side of the family is concerned I have never heard much about where they lived before Texas. I would love to know more about my family but have not been able to get anyone to open up about much when trying to talk to them(F.Adams/S.Richie/L.Adams Personal communication, October 2010).…
