 In order to solve this question, we would have to know the pros and cons of DDT and its effects on society. DDT is the cheapest and most effective way of stopping malaria, but even the mosquitoes will develop a resistance to DDT. Since this chemical lasts twice as long as other pesticides, it is better to continue using DDT, because there is no real reason not to use it. On the other hand, insects will start to develop a sort of resistance to this harmful chemical. “It is the ‘tough’ insects that survive chemical attack. Spraying kills of the weaklings.
