When I arrived at LL:30 AM DD was ready to go to the Library, Bridges main office, dairy queen, and OCTC for school. DD is currently completing her school work. DD has been well behaved and polite. DD had a Sundae and a Double Cheeseburger. I redirected DD to making healthy choice by saying, "DD is it healthy to eat a sundae? Do you think we can pick something else?" DD ate the sundae and informed me her dad did not allow her to splurge yesterday with a cookie, but she was able to with her own money. DD and I will be going to Kroger to buy her healthy foods. DD agreed to eating Vegetable soup for dinner tonight. DD informed me she will not be cooking for her roommate anymore since her roommate wasted a lot of food. DD needed a bit of assistance

I wanted to get a better idea of why she feels the need to yell, no, do not, putting her in time- out and you know better to Aleena. She told she told me it is because Aleena understands. I suggested that she takes a moment and look at things through Aleena’s eyes and understand how she sees the world. explore I also gave her a PBSkids.org printout on calming down and being proactive parent. I have to ease into a discipline conversation because Miss Rojas is set in her ways, 1. based on how she was raised and 2. how she was trained when she worked in a daycare. Once again, I was placed in Mrs.Metcalfe who teaches second grade at Bens Branch Elementary. Mrs.Metcalfe took attendance while the students waited patiently on the carpet. After she took attendance, she addressed that she had taken some privileges away from the students because the students did not picked up their mess after having centers and would not follow instructions that the teacher gave. She explained that centers might return for the upcoming school year if they behaved properly. After she addressed the issues of the students, she instructed everyone to go back to their desks and waited till they put their thumbs which meant that they were ready for the lesson of the day. Mrs.Metcalfe went up to the front of the class to use the projector and expected her students to follow what she was doing on their worksheets.…

I replied that I was uncomfortable with the approach because Matthew adores his teacher and it was not my intention to ruin the relationship over homework which he has always found difficult. I decided to speak to Matthew's teacher, Mr. Washerman, after the meeting while waiting to pick up the children from school. I explained that I was an instructional assistant who worked with children who had behavior difficulties and had found some successful strategies for doing less than desirable work. He agreed that I can modify homework as I see fit as long as Matthew is practicing his vocabulary and math. I must admit it was a pleasure meeting him and I am great full for his understanding. However, I found Mrs. Plack's aforementioned conduct during this meeting out of line and her lack of preparedness a bad reflection on the special education department within Marlbrough elementary school. Consequently, this is not how I wished to start the 2016-2017 school year, but I feel if not addressed immediately that this conduct would continue throughout the school year. Ultimately I believe this would lead to Matthew's education becoming negatively impacted due to the unscrupulous behavior and lack of professionalism displayed in this…
