My name is Pan Tianqi, currently a first-year student doing a Bachelor of Engineering at the University of Hong Kong. I joined IT interest group in junior high school and chemistry interest group in senior high school working together with like-minded friends to find out the scientific explanations of daily life. The amazing interdisciplinary product shows a promising future and many people would benefit greatly. So I want to further study and pursue my career in this area. In addition to my academic performance, I participate in a lot of off-campus activities. I volunteered to help local minority teenagers fit into the social life and help local high school students from poor families with their study. I also join the Financial Dialogue series organized by the HSBC. I have seen the gap between the rich and the poor and how the latter struggle with health problems. I hope I can make a difference. I want to design the cheap real-time health monitor applied to the unhealthy organ or tissue so that poor patients can afford to be diagnosed and treated in time. The Globex Julmester Programme provides a unique and precious opportunity to study in the combination of the western and the eastern environment. And the courses provided exactly meet my desire to further explore the area of smart material.
