The U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Division of Global Migration and Quarantine (DGMQ) is the premier division within CDC which has positively changed public health in our communities. The division is a part of CDC’s National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Disease both work together to protect people at home and around the world from diseases.
The Division of Global Migration and Quarantine (DGMQ) has three branches: 1.) Travelers’ Health, 2.) Immigrant, Refugee, and Migrant Health, and 3.)     The northern regions tended to have more religious beliefs. The southern regions tended believe in a church and state separation. According to "The Articles of Agreement, Springfield, Massachusetts in 1636" (Doc D), whoever entered Massachusetts had to comply with the certain articles and orders that shaped a community around God and the share of the land. The “Articles of Agreement, Springfield, Massachusetts, 1636’’ is valid document because it was basic laws. As a result of “The Articles of Agreement Springfield, Massachusetts, 1636’’, the northern region became more religiously involved with society, causing the one region to split into two. Because Virginia was becoming more of an economical region such as its tobacco farming, it strayed away from the religious upbringings of New England . According to John Winthrop, author of “A Model of Christian Charity 1630" (Doc A) stated that the community must be tightly knit together, and must lead a good example. For whoever watches them must see that God is the sole leader. John Winthrop’s Article is valid because it his original observation. Thereby showing that the followers of New England had to watch over each other and follow in the eyes of God. Hence the families would go to church two times on a typical Sunday. Allowing for the people to follow the Covent of Grace, this was between puritan communities and God. Which allowed for the community to strengthen their new settlements. According to “Wage and Price Regulations in Connecticut 1676” (Doc E) tradesmen and laborers they shall not be greedy and must use their profits to help them serve God and their neighbors. This document is valid because it is the regulations of Connecticut’s wage and prices. In order to be successful in the community, they must use their resources to help and serve their neighbors and God. Consequently Connecticut had to have prices that everyone could afford. Virginia did not want to use their most of their money to help serve god.…

    The enlightened despots indicated a belief in the equality of men and natural rights. They thought the people should be able to prosper, yet these “enlightened rulers” ruled in a despotic fashion. They believed that they had absolute power and that they were the state. Their words went above everybody's no matter what. In some kind of sense it was kind of like a parent to child relationship. The parent has the right to rule over the child to keep them in line. In the social order group, documents 1 and 6 prove this valid. For example, document 1 states, “ Argue as much as you will, only obey!” This is a contradiction that shows the demanding qualities of an enlightened despot. No one knows better then them. Also, document 6 states,”What is the true End on Monarchy? Not to deprive people of their natural liberty; but to correct their actions, in order to attain the supreme good...” This also shows that the leaders thought that they had the divine right to rule over the people like this. Both documents use social order to prove that the despots really just think that they are the ultimate ruler. In the political group, documents 4 and 8 also prove this valid. For example, document 4 states,” a ruler must be ready to sacrifice his life for the welfare of his subjects.” This shows that the despots were also enlightened. They did think that they were absolute rulers but they also took into account the welfare of their people. The despots wanted to make sure that their people were prospering and improving their quality of life. Also, document 8 states,”her policies will be based on Machiavellianism.” Again, this shows that the despots had the power to act like the state- absolutely and, if necessary, ruthlessly. They had no one standing in their way. It can be thought that these despots were just trying to win the crowd over by pleasing the people. They could achieve popular support this way.     One of the prime reasons the US has benefit in improving global health is due to the nature of illness and disease. Infectious disease, foodborne illness, and contaminated products can all be spread from country to country and furthermore effect trade and travel (Global Health - Healthy People. n.d.). No matter how healthy the US becomes, there will consistently be international threats. Additionally, the US is one of the most diverse countries and constantly has people traveling in and out of the border. In 2011, 7.5 million US visas were issued in foreign countries (Report of the Visa Office 2011 Table of Contents. n.d.). International travelers come to the US for various reasons including tourism, medical treatment, temporary work, business, and to visit family (Temporary Visitors to the U.S.. n.d.). The US has always welcomed people in and is a part of what makes the country so diverse. However, with a high influx of out of country visitors, come foreign diseases, agents, and products. New strains of bacteria behave and adapt differently in American environment compared to their native environments and this creates a whole new resistant strain of bacteria and disease.
