The main focus of Day of the Dead is for family and friends to pray and remember their loved ones that have died. Day of the Dead provides people with a time of celebration. Day of the Dead helps people realize that we were all born and that we will all die so that we can live our lives with more understanding. I think they do the things they do for a few reasons. The first one is so that they do not fear death. The second reason I think they do what they do is so that they do not need to only feel sorrow for their loved ones, but so that they can celebrate their lives.
Products There are a lot of products that go along with Day of the Dead. Most of the products are placed on the ofrenda that the family has made. Common items include sugar skulls, candles, marigolds, pan de muerto, incense, a photo of the dead, food, water, and other things that the deceased liked. On Day of the Dead, families will travel to the graveyard and clean the graves of their dead. Often in the cemeteries, bands will play music. A very popular decoration for Day of the Dead is papel picado. The most common design is the skull.
