1. Overall, were you satisfied with the presentation you gave? Why or why not?
Overall, I was real satisfied with the presentation I gave because I felt real confident in myself and I was ready to speak in front of the audience.
2. Were you confident during your presentation? Were you more nervous or less nervous than your first presentation? Why do you think that was so?
Yes, I was confident during my presentation I gave. I was less nervous than my first my presentation because I had practice all week long on what I was going to say in front of the audiences.
3. What did you think was good about your delivery (body movements, posture, eye contact, vocals, etc.)? What would you like to improve upon with regards to your delivery? Be specific.
What I think I did well about the way I delivered, was that I used an audience to shake my hand. I was showing the audience how El Salvador salute each other. I was making some eye contact with some of the audience, and my vocal was loud enough for the audience to hear me. What I would like to improve upon with regards to my delivery is to have a lot of body movements while give the presentation.
4. What did you think was good about the content and organization of your presentation? What would you have liked to improve upon, if anything? Be specific. I think I did well on the way I followed the outline Dr. Dean had provide us. I did a lot of research, and found some amazing facts about El Salvador. I organized each paragraph

The first thing that I noticed in my introduction is that I need a better attention grabber. It was good, but there is definitely a better way to get the audience’s attention. The biggest thing in my speech that I noticed the most was the eye contact. I tend to look down at my notecards a lot. I review my speech over and over again before I give it, and almost memorize it, but it is my worst fear to speak in front of people so that is why I look down at my cards so much. Also, I have my cards too close to my face. The second thing that caught my attention while watching myself was that I need to have more gestures with my hands. Having a little bit more mobility with my hands will put more emphasis on the things that I am trying to say to the audience. The power point that I made was simple, but I feel like it got the points across and corresponded with my speech. I thought my tone throughout the speech was good. I feel like my tone of voice is very personable with the audience and not too soft or loud. Another thing that I thought I did well was pausing. I let my information sink in with the audience with a pause. I tend to use a lot of head movement when I’m speaking, and it is distracting to the audience. I used some humor in my speech by giving funny pictures and saying some things in my speech that made the audience laugh. I gave some time to let the humor set in with a pause and then proceeded to go on with my speech, so I thought that I used humor in my speech pretty well. My speech needs to be more conversational. When I watched myself speak, it seemed like I was reading it a little bit. With a more conversational way of speaking, you can attach yourself to the audience rather than reading your speech. Saying that, when I was speaking I was standing with good posture and speaking with a good tone. Even though I may have not been speaking conversationally, I think that my posture made up for it a…

This is the first opportunity for me to present information of any topic to my class in a while. I’m not sure if I remember the last time I presented in front of a class full of people, which made me very nervous for this presentation especially in front of people I didn’t know and had never talked to before. As the date for me to present was arriving I began to get more nervous because again I haven’t done this is a while but once I entered the class I did a good job of keeping my nerves down and simply reading the slides to the class and presenting the information of my particular dialect very well I feel like. For many people presenting such things are enjoyable and fun for them but for me I’ve never been a big fan of presenting in front of a classroom full of students and in this case a classroom full of students I don’t know.…

As the speeches neared mine, I felt overwhelmed with nerves. However, I recalled positive tactics for this and proceeded to squeeze my fists, take deep breaths, and sit in a more confident pose (Lucas). Once I reached the podium, I instantly felt better and was eager to bring the information to my peers’ attention. As I reached the core of my content, I felt surprised by the extent I was able to speak extemporaneously. The feedback I received was great, as well. I noticed my peers paying close attention and nodding, especially those who were affected by the ideas I was emphasizing. Generally they seemed interested, but I took negative feedback into account, as well. Some did not seem as engaged, and I assumed it was due to the fact that they were still awaiting their turn to present. Another one of my peers was falling asleep, but I also figured it was due to a lack of sufficient rest the night…

The first thing that caught my attention was my nervous twitches. Like most speakers, I am nervous before I give a speech. I tend to get a bit shaky and make really silly jokes to help ease my own nerves. This was apparent in my bouncing about at the beginning and repeated hand gestures throughout the speech. However, once I start, I become more casual and interestingly enough don’t want to stop. Once I finish a speech my desire to continue talking has left me energetic for discussion and communication.…

I was most proud of having a lot of content. I felt like I had done my research well and I was pretty knowledgeable about the topic. I also was passionate about not texting while driving (I will not touch my phone when I am driving) and I felt like the audience was able to tell that I felt strongly about it and I actually cared about it and not just choosing some random topic to try to persuade people on.…

I also chose this method of Presentation as I believe it played best to my strengths as I am good at public speaking and not as good at presenting gathered information in a essay form. My outcome allowed me to present most of my key findings and answer all my sub headings and my original question. Doing this form of presentation I had to take into consideration and audience and what they would like to watch and hear. Therefore when creating my PowerPoint I made sure to include interesting visuals and video also when I was talking my intentions were to stand confidently and talk with enthusiasm all these factor combined created and interesting presentation for the audience. This assisted me in other presentation as so far in year 12 I had not had many oral presentation and doing this one helped me to think more about the audience and which helps me to concentrate on trying to be confident and intriguing which this year will assist me in future presentations in other subjects. I believe my overall presentation will be helpful to lots of people as I was able to present how the past can effect people for a long time…

My first skill is about how I struggle when communicating in verbal presentations. I’m confident when it comes to verbal communication in conversations or interviews. However when being in front on large audiences I find it hard to be as confident. During college I never needed to prepare my own presentation and present them. It was a new experience for me to get into groups or prepare a presentation by myself in front of my peers. I have experienced around 5 presentations now and I feel I am becoming more confident in myself and don’t get as worried when I know I have to do one. However I still feel like it’s a weakness when it comes to my skills and would like develop myself to become clear and confident when doing presentations. An example of how I no I’m doing better in this skill is that my grades have become higher. I feel I’m weak when doing presentations because I experience feeling nervous and forget to say things when I know what I’m talking about, so it comes across unprofessional and weak.…

In my opinion the article Vocal Delivery seemed very helpful. It discussed some of the key points that are very important during your presentation. The article provides some guidelines to control three main components of vocal delivery: rate, volume, and pitch. This article would be helpful to new speakers. Overall, I would encourage people to read the article and apply some techniques in their presentation.…

I feel that I performed my informative speech very well. To prepare, I read through my notecards multiple times to engrain as much as I could into my brain so that I would have to use my cards as little as possible. When in front of the class, I felt much less nervous than during my Shield speech. Maybe this is because this speech was informative about a topic of my choosing instead of about myself. I felt like I knew my information and I knew what I was talking about, and I think that I did a pretty good job of giving eye contact because of this. I felt prepared which seemed to lessen my nerves. From where I was standing, I think that I did a good job of standing still and not fidgeting. I think that I expressed my speech well through good tone variance and kept a pretty good pace and volume throughout.…

I worked hard on it, and I hope it showed to my audience. Although, not perfect by any means. I would have liked to have a little more eye contact and after watching my speech I realized I miss spoke on the statistics of breast cancer and spoke the fact there were 231 women with breast cancer, when it should’ve been 231,000. That’s a huge mistake, and was pretty disappointed in it. If I could do the speech over I would give more eye contact, not make the mistake of facts about breast cancer, and most of all, try to calm my nerves.…

I thought my first speech went better than my second one. Usually it should be the other way around, but I guess it works differently for every person.
