data gathering
Summary of data gathering
There are more cars and trucks going through the intersection of Spring Street and Route 27 in the morning than the afternoon.

How to determine cars and trucks
Cars are usually used for taking passengers to the destination; in general, they are smaller than trucks. As for trucks, there are larger spaces to carry items, for example, gasoline, foods, and other goods. In addition, school buses are important transportations on campus, but they are counted as neither cars nor trucks.

How to choose days to gather data
I randomly chose days when I had fewer things to deal with, to compare with other busier days. Furthermore, weather situation was considered, because it would affect the results and efficiency. Based on my schedule and the weather, September 19th and 20th were both available.

How to choose five-minute time interval in data
Choosing time is always related to my schedule. On September 19th, I finished my class at 3:25 in Bachelor Hall, which is located right in the intersection of Spring Street and Route 27; the geographic advantage made data gathering easier. On the following day, I did not have classes after 11:15. For the sake of gathering data in required time, I ran to the named place, and accomplish the mission.

Pros and cons of analyzing data
I agree with analyzing data from different sections of 205 classes separately rather than combine into a big set of data. Different people gathered data in different time, so combining all data together is not strong enough to represent the whole traffic situation in this intersection. However, it is too complicated to analyze all data separately; so, we can divided data into several parts, for instance, 9am to 10am on Monday. In this way, we can clearly see every record, and easily analyze the data.

The Chinatown BIA is a low density residential area where the community is built with a variety of small Asian style businesses that attracts tourists and a lot of people to shop and visit. In order to make the community accessible for people, a good transportation system is essential. I had the opportunity to visit Chinatown on Tuesday, October 20th, 2015, at approximately 8:30am, particular to monitor the traffic condition on the major intersection of Dundas and Spadina Avenue because Dundas Street West is always known as the busiest street. During this time, the area was trafficked, the most common forms of transportation are cars and street cars since it is the working hours for many workers and students. The traffic was not trafficked…

Throughout the years women have been fighting for their rights. In the early 1800s women were given little rights. Women were able to start working outside of the home for the first time in America’s history, but women wanted more than that. The sermons and the ideas of the Second Great Awakening opened women’s’ eyes. The idea that everyone was created equal made the women think about the rights that they had and the rights the men had. They wanted to have a say in politics and be able to voice their opinions on certain ideas. Women were determined for the change and nothing was going to stand in between them and their goal of equality.…

    Intersection

Intersections have traffic going through them all of the time. I pass through eight intersections on my way to school. One of the main intersections that I pass through going almost anywhere is the intersection of Fairbanks Road and Highway 139. This intersection is a very busy one. Any traffic going towards the Bastrop area or coming towards the Swartz area from the Bastrop area have to pass through this intersection. Because the Intersection has nothing but a caution light, people go through there going faster than they should. This in return has caused twenty-nine wrecks within the past year. People may think that that is not a lot of wrecks for a year, but take into a count that fifty-five percent of these wrecks were fatal. To make this intersection a safer place to travel for the community I propose that we do one of three things. My first proposal is that, as a community, we petition the Louisiana State Department of Transportation to put a timed red light at this intersection. An alternate, but still effective means of traffic control would be to put in a four way stop at this intersection. Finally, a reduction of speed limited around the intersection to about twenty or thirty miles per hour would reduce the chance for serve traffic accidents, according to the statistics.…
