Dangers of Tobacco
What are the dangers of Tobacco?

What are the dangers of smoking cigarettes? Well some dangers of smoking cigarettes are you can develop lung cancer or emphazima. With either of these life would be pretty bad, you wouldn’t be able to do very much with out getting tired or having to stop for a few minutes to catch you breath.
Smoking can even make it hard to play sports. Because it can cause shortness of breathe, dizziness, and coughing. And if you use smokeless tobacco it can cause dehydration.
People think that smokeless tobacco is safer than smoking a cigarette, but that’s not true. No form of tobacco is safe to use, smokeless tobacco users are fifty percent more likely to get oral cancer that cigarette smokers. And those people who are lucky enough not to develop cancer are highly likely to develop signs of use of tobacco. Smoking is the leading cause of lung cancer and cancer of the mouth, throat, bladder, pancreas, and kidneys. Smoking is also the leading preventable cause of death in the United States. More than four hundred thousand people die from smoking cigarettes and most of them started smoking before they were eight-teen. Smoking is also particularly dangerous for teenagers because their body hasn’t fully developed yet, and you still have some growing to do. Smoking can put you at risk for many complications like bronchitis, stroke, and heart disease all due to the 200 known poisons in tobacco. Another danger of smoking cigarettes is that if you are pregnant and you continue to smoke, not only are you hurting yourself you are hurting your baby too. Smoking while pregnant can lead to birth defects of you baby. Such as low birth weight, and your baby can even be born premature. Also if you as a parent smoke around your children then they will be at risk to pick up the same bad habit. Cigarettes contain nicotine, which is highly addictive. People who smoke on a daily basis find it hard to quit due to the addiction to nicotine they have developed since they started smoking. If you have asthma or some other breathing disease. You already have problems breathing and by smoking it only makes it worse. Smoking with asthma means you can not really participate in athletic activities for very long because you are going to run out of breath quicker that the other people. So pretty much right after you start playing or running you will have to stop because you cant breath. There are also many dangers of smoking that have nothing to do with your health. Like if you are driving down the road with your friends and you are trying to light a cigarette in stead of looking at the road the there is a chance that you could be in a car accident and seeing as your friends are with you, you put them in danger too. You can also put your friends and family in danger by smoking around them. About three thousand people die from lung cancer each year just from being around people who smoke and breathing in second hand smoke. People also say that second hand smoke can be equally bad or worse that smoking a cigarette. Also the cost of cigarettes can be a problem, if you smoke a pack of cigarettes a day at the price they are now it’s about five dollars. Which is about 35 40 dollars a week, which is about one hundred fifty dollars. So in a year you will spend about two thousand dollars a year or more if they don’t raise the price on them. And also if you smoke it could limit you in areas such as dating if you smoke not everyone will want to date you. Someone might not date you because you smoke, but no one will not date you because you don’t. To people who don’t smoke, smoking night be unattractive and gross. Also if you smoke it could limit your choices in restaurants and even in jobs. You can’t walk in to any restaurant and light up a cigarette, some restaurants have a section for smokers and non-smokers. But in fast food restaurants you cant walk in and light up a cigarette. Because it is rude and disgusting. Another risk you decide to take when you start smoking is if you smoke and have children they might start smoking too. But even though a lot of teens are smoking these days, about sixty percent of them don’t. So even though it may seem like more teens smoke then not actually it’s the other way around.
But the longer you smoke the harder it will be to quit. If you smoke for five years and try to quit and another person who has smoked for thirty-seven years tries to quit, its going to be a little harder for the person who has smoked for a longer period of time. Because they have more of an addiction. Because in just one cigarette there are 28 different addictive poisons. Also smoking can lead to an increase in your life and home insurance because they know you are going to die soon so they might as well charge you for it on your life insurance. And when you buy a house and you smoke in it they will charge you because it will smell like smoke and even have yellow walls and when you want to move out it will be much harder to sell because a non- smoker will take on look at it and make up his/her mind and go to the next house. People also seem to think that smoking relaxes you but actually if you smoke it makes your stress levels higher which means it doesn’t relax you it does the complete opposite and more so then when you started. So is smoking really worth all of this stuff you would go through like diseases financial problems, problems with your children, and the family and friends around you?
