Dance Dancer Analysis
I have trained as a dancer since I was 5 years old. I was a recreational student at Gayton Dance Studio for 7 years. I took hip-hop, jazz, turns leaps and extensions, ballet and production for the 7 years I attended Gayton. Then I left Gayton to go and attend Artistic Fusion Dance Academy. As of right now I’ve been with AFDA for 2 years, and I train in ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and poms. I am also on the competition team at Artistic Fusion.

Outside of dance, during school I am involved in orchestra, and outside of school I volunteer at food banks and the police department during the holidays, and I teach dance classes at the Boys and Girls Club twice a week. My job at the Boys and Girls Club is to be a choreographer, event planned and director. I believe that it is important to be well rounded and give back to the community, I also love to share all my knowledge in dance and I am hoping to give all my students a full dancers experience without a cost. I am a very driven, well rounded, determined, unique and outgoing person. I will be a great asset to the Horizon Poms team because as an individual I feel that because of all the things I do outside of dance one thing that sets me apart from other dancers is that I have experienced so many amazing eye opening things that not just

Alongside with proper dance training and technique I believe that these traits are crucial for the team. I will put in every bit of effort into each and every practice and performance and I will also put in effort to practice skills I may not have mastered outside of poms practice and I will put energy and apply my performance skills while performing.

As a person I offer a positive attitude, a good teammate that won't let the team down by missing practice or performances, I will be a good role model/ leader, I will be a positive influence, I will dance with a purpose, and promote school

During Monday’s class, we focused on Isadora Duncan’s perception of modern dance and dance in general. Her perception of dance was to use it as a mechanism to search our inner souls and find its connectedness with nature (Brown 7). We began an exercise concentrating solely on our breaths. Since Duncan believed in liberation and individuality, breathing is an action that we all individually own and is used as a tool to access our inner thoughts and our souls. During the breathing exercises, I fell into a deep state of meditation, focusing on the subtle inhales and exhales of my breath, and eventually felt invigorated afterwards. With each breath, I felt a release of this uninvited ball of negative energy, which had itself wrapped inside my core,…

I volunteered to help at the Byrne academy. I help organize and gather up the soccer equipment. I also help at the academy by performing various skills for the kids that attended. At the same time, I also help out at Lakeview men’s soccer tryout. My position was to keep track of the player’s stats. A lot of times, I would get instructions from the head coach to set up drills for the players, and I would set up the drills. I’m excellent with following instructions. Most importantly, I have a huge school spirit. Back in my high school days, I would always wear the school colors, I’ve watch all the Lakeview men’s soccer games that are played at home. I also attended to most sport event, such as basketball game, football game, and wrestling meet. I should be hired because i have the experience of an instructor, such as volunteering at camps to help kids, helping out the soccer team, and I have huge school…

A.S.B. was an amazing class for me last year and I hope to be in it again. I would represent my Junior class in a positive way. It would be fun helping get kids involved in school activities. I would love to help with the school dances and assemblies because I am very creative. I think students should feel like school is there home away from home. Getting them involved and picking them for activities would give them a much better outlook and a good attitude towards school. I love getting decked out for spirit days so I would encourage other people to dress up with me! Leading in an enthusiastic way I will do the tasks at hand and get the work done, while being an example to others. I have a natural ability to improvise and adapt to every situation. I’ve had much experience like working a summer job at my Dads chemical company. In the office I helped work the phones for customer service. I also helped organize the company’s promotional events. To accomplish goals you must always respect others, work hard and get the job done; that’s what I think A.S.B. is all about. I’m up for anything, and available for whatever I’m needed to do. My family completely supports me as a leader and encourages any and all involvement that I am called to do. I am very energetic and enthusiastic about things and have many ideas. Also I’m very artistic and love to draw. I think one of my strengths is my creative mind. Being kind of a perfectionist is probably one of my strengths and one of my weaknesses. Sometimes I want to take my time to make everything right. Some things I could bring to A.S.B. are a fresh outlook, hard work and mainly new ideas. Maybe we could do some kind of marathon that went on the whole night till the morning; I think kids would have so much fun and we could still raise money. Otherwise I think A.S.B. is a great program and that’s why I’m running and would love to be in it again. I loved it last year and am hoping to…

Before deciding to do this assignment, other than the clips we watched in class I had never seen the show before. The episode of Dance Moms I watched was actually very entertaining. The episode I watched was in Season 3. In the episode there was a new girl who joined the competition dance team her name was Nicaya. Of course, she came along with her mom whose name was Caya. Caya wasn’t at all like the rest of the moms. She didn’t dress anywhere near as proper as the rest of the moms. Shockingly, she was also a lesbian, which really surprised the rest of the moms. Caya felt like her daughter brought “Divatude” to the dance team, but I doubt the other parents felt the need for anything close to that. In the beginning, Nicaya didn’t know any dance terminology, well at least how to spell them.…

As an extremely challenging and physically demanding pastime, it makes sense that a career in dance has lots of pressures that go along with it. This should come as no surprise seeing that every professional sport requires hard work and at least some sacrifice. It is questionable, however, if there is maybe too much pressure put on dancers in this day and age. Many people do not realize what it takes for a person to make it as a dancer, the dedication and drive the person must have. The fact of the matter is, the outcome of a dancer's career may not outweigh the physical and emotional damages left over from the long journey to the top.…

The inspiring Dallas Black Dance Academy, is the official dance training school offering dance classes from ages 4 and up. The academy inspire boys and girls to appreciate dance as an art form, particularly Modern Dance Ballet. Although there are different ballet styles. I chose the Modern Dance Ballet because it is more of a freestyle dance unlike the stylize placement ballet. A typical ballet dancer day consists of warming-up, pre-practice and ending with a performance full of emotion that will always be remembered.…
