Dallas Cowboys Case Study
This season, the Dallas Cowboys have been more than lucky by drafting the quarterback Dak Prescott. The decision to select the rookie player was made during their fourth round pick of the 2016 NFL Draft.
After franchise quarterback Tony Romo experienced a back injury during the preseason, Prescott was designated as starting quarterback for the beginning of the 2016 season. Prescott was supposed to maintain this position until Romo recovered, or at least that is what everyone presumed.
Romo addressed the media with a touching speech relinquishing the coveted position to Prescott.
"You see football is a meritocracy. You aren't handed anything,” he said. You earn everything, every single day, over and over again. You have to prove it. That's the way that the NFL,

Many critics suggest that Prescott found himself in an easy position being that the Cowboys feature an impressive offensive line to include running back Ezekiel Elliott and wide receivers Dez Bryant and Jason Witten.
“Like I said before, the guy’s amazing,” said Bryant. “We’re going to follow that guy,” he added. “We’re going to continue to keep following that guy. The way that he adjusts and the way he handles his business, it says a lot about him.”
Despite criticism, Prescott has been able to handle the pressure of being the starting quarterback for "America's Team” and holds fate responsible for his success.
“I’ve always had high expectations of myself. I’ve never felt that there was anything I couldn’t do in this world,” he said. "I’m just living the moment. I feel like all of this was supposed to happen. When you work hard, things work your way.”
As the season continues, Prescott continues to break records and lead the cowboys to victory.
It’s fair to say the Cowboys are not only lucky, but they are fortunate to have brought on a quarterback who could quite possibly become the best to ever do

Jerral "Jerry" Wayne Jones was born October 13, 1942, in Los Angeles, California. He is the owner and general manager of the Dallas Cowboys. As a co-captain of the 1964 National Championship Arkansas Razorbacks, Jones is one of a very small number of NFL owners who actually earned a significant level of success as football players. He is the only man in the history of the National Football League to play for a collegiate national championship football team and own a Super Bowl winner. A man of varied interests, who will not rest on yesterday’s achievements, he is a dedicated businessman and family man - sharing a vivid enthusiasm for both. Since he took over as general manager in 1989, the Cowboys have drafted 24 different players who have gone on to appear in a combined total of 85 Pro Bowls. Dallas has also signed nine free agent players who have made 22 Pro Bowl appearances while representing the Dallas Cowboys. Since 1989 the Cowboys have made 122 trades, the most celebrated of which was the 1989 deal that sent Herschel Walker to the Minnesota Vikings; and provided the personnel foundation for three league titles. In the last 31 years, 33 different owners have entered the National Football League. Of that group, only Jerry Jones and Robert Kraft of New England have guided their franchises to more than two Super Bowl championships. Moreover, Jones joined Art Rooney, Jack Kent Cooke, Al Davis, Eddie DeBartolo and Kraft as the only men to have won at least three Super Bowls as NFL owners. Jones is one of three NFL owners who also have the title or powers of…
