Daisy's Treatment Of Women In The Great Gatsby
I chose this passage because it shows how women were viewed during this period in the book. As I was reading this, I did not agree with the statement, “she’ll be a fool-that’s the best thing a girl can be in this world”. I believe that everyone is equal, and girls are intelligent and can do whatever they please. However, in the 1920’s, women were not viewed equal to men. Daisy’s remark shows that she did not agree with social values at the time, about women. Daisy stated this to Nick and Jordan when explaining her wishes for her child even though she is a girl
