DACA Scholarship
I have not had any scholarships in my time at Maryland. However, I am a DACA member, which is a student that has immigrated to the US at a young age. Being a DACA recipient has allowed me to come to this school at an in state tuition rate for the Robert H. Smith School of Business here at Maryland, which i believed is a scholarship in is own right for a person such as myself.

I believe that I am deserving of this scholarship for multiple reasons. One of those reasons being that I have always tried my hardest in everything that I do. I have tried my hardest to earn the grades that I have received throughout high school, and because of this I have been able to earn a 3.214 GPA. Another reason that I believe that I am deserving of this scholarship is because I have been able to give back to the community as often as I have been able to. I have been able to give back through my participation in Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America along with other organizations. Through the FCCLA group I have been able to give back through the Ottoville Cancer Walk along with the Delphos soup kitchen.…

Scholarships are found to be more commonly given out for academics rather than sports. Academic scholarships are promoted from the states to be given out. In Division Three colleges they aren’t even allowed to offer athletic scholarships so they tend to hand out more money for a student's’ academics. Colleges are more willing to give out more money for academics if the student…

I believe that I deserve this scholarship because I have proven that even when life throws me a curveball, I am responsible. I graduated a year early from Rouse High School, married my best friend, and welcomed a beautiful baby girl to the world two months ago. Right now we are on WIC and ARKids, once I earn my degree I will be able to get off of Government support and take care of my daughter properly. I believe in dedication, motivation, and doing everything to the best of your ability. By supporting me to go to school I can insure you that the money will not go to waste. I believe that everything comes as a blessing and nothing should be taken for…

I believe I'm worthy of this scholarship because throughout my school years it has been filled with dedication. At a young age I realized things weren't going to come easy when they diagnosed me with dyslexia. Not only was I discouraged by the news, but heartbroken because as a kid I wanted to be nothing but the best. To achieve the best meant having constant remedial classes every year in missing out on other electives I would've like tI have taken. Though this truly was it so bad because my teachers each year put so much effort into teaching the class I was taking. Watching how rewarding it was to see me my classmates finally break through and overcome what was hindering our learning was amazing. This made me think that one day I could…

Scholarships. The Holy Grail of college funds. A chance to not only escape the adult boogeyman of student debt, but possiblly even put some of that saved-up college money towards your first apartment. And as more and more young women enter higher education, there should be some scholarships that can be claimed exclusively by women, right?
