Pressure groups
• Pressure groups have a massive influence over
Virgin because of who they are. So pressure
groups are the type of stakeholders that can
ruin a brand name. This stakeholder has a
large influence because of the way they can
portray the business to the public.

How pressure groups influenced Virgin
• Yes this pressure group has influenced Virgin by slating off Virgin Atlantic because of what fuel they use and how bad their carbon footprint was. This influenced the business because Virgin had to change their fuel to a more efficient eco friendly one. Also they set up a eco challenge to keep their co2 emissions low. I found the info about Virgin changing their policies at the actual Virgin website so this is a very reliable source and I found the info about the pressure groups on this is also a reliable source because of how professional the website is set out.

The government

This stakeholder has influenced Virgin in the past by Virgin actually moving to another country to avoid tax. This is known as a tax haven to big companies to avoid tax. Virgin set their aims with the

government in mind by avoiding tax so it wont cut into their profits heavily. They can then use that money they saved to
go back into the business and for growth. I found this info on http://treasureislands.org/virgin-enterprise-off-to-geneva-to-s hirk-tax

source would not risk lying because they could
get sued

• Customers have a massive influence over virgin because they control their profit margins they control the decisions Virgin make to a certain extent involving new products and improvement to products and services. Customers have had a influence over Virgin in the past by enough customers coming and giving their business to Virgin. Virgin was then able to expand to it all started with customers buying products and services giving Virgin the

opportunity to expand into the business it is today. Virgin sets its business aims and purposes with customers in mind all the time because customers are the foundation of the business so they need to know what will please their customers. http://
